I got them and for many mounts I’ve used, they work except for the mount Mechanized Lumber Extractor, which is obtained after collecting 300+ toys. I’ve tried various mount and every time I got back to Mechanized Lumber Extractor, I just sink rather than walk on water. Other mount still has water walking.
I think something got overlooked?
Just tried Sky Golem (made by engineering), doesn’t want to walk on water either
Sky golem didn’t lose it’s ability to pick herbs while mounted so mount equipment won’t work on it
Patch note, for reference:
Mounts that already have unique effects such as the Sky Golem will not benefit from equipment slots (not including vendor mounts).
They’ve taken almost everything that made my Shaman interesting away, but at least I can still walk on water in my Sky Golem.

The tooltip didn’t make mention the equipment wouldn’t work on herb mount, and not everyone reads the entire patch note.
Indeed, which is why Blizzard made a blog post about it in April and the forums have had several mega threads discussing it since then.
Tool tips, by their nature, contain limited info. They don’t contain an entire patch note.
Everything you need to know in life, doesn’t come with a tool tip. If something appeals to you, it’s on you to check out the ramifications.
