No, I think they’re going to break the mount I earned for no other reason than they don’t like the Strder.
You can tell me I’m crazy, but feel me…I did my grind. If you did a grind you wouldn’t want it to be taken away, would you?

It’s not getting taken away, it’s getting nerfed to bring it into line with all the other mounts. I have a water strider and honestly I think it is legitimately too good compared to other mounts. There are mounts that are significantly grindier to acquire but aren’t as universally required as the water striders.
You’ve had like 3 xpacs to take advantage of it, be happy you got that.
And even further…
If you want a Waterstrider, this new mount equipment is only going to give you the ability to purchase Water Walking from ME.
Because yes, my Blacksmith is getting that recipe. You would all do well to argue for yourself and your OWN right to go earn a Waterstrider.

If we go by what you say here, either all the other mounts need to have vendors/an AH/ the ability to herb/carry 2+ people/fly
Or all of the mounts with special abilities need to lose those special abilities.

All mounts are Water Striders if you’re a Shaman or a DK.
They need to lose those abilities, which will then be turned into more mount equipment options. Especially the Sky Golem, because it basically has the exact same problem as the Water Strider.
Hurrdrrrr … they’re doing this because they were way too flurble and more gleepglorp was needed!
Seriously, it’s a world of magic, anyone can make up any stupid reason for anything to be, or not be, and all of it is just “MADE UP NONSENSE” as far as logic goes.
Blizzard’s changing it because the boss felt like changing it. Period. Full stop. End of story. His reasons are his own, and likely not in our best interests… defending them at this point is just gross.

BULLs**T. That is straight-up a pile of brown.
Why aren’t they bringing it in line with the golem. They’re leaving it’s special ability alone.
It’s getting nerfed for no flipping reason, it’s being broken because of it’s bouncy nature and ability to take more fall damage than other mounts. It’s whole design, is that of a spring. A springy bug. It was clever, it was cute (according to many) and it’s been worked for to get, and used, by players for 6 years or better.
And some of you wonder why folks are upset over it. There’s nothing overpowered about it. Bliz created it, and now they regret doing so because it’s too f’n convenient for us to ride on top of a river around mobs we’ve seen and fought for a year now. It’s not even like it’s THAT much of a convenience. I use mine almost exclusively, and I get knocked off, dazed, and sunk quite a bit still.
For them, or you, to tell me this minor convenience is somehow overpowered, is like a slap in the face to my feeling sick and tired of being told I don’t spend enough time “appreciating” the landscape and time sinks.
I keep seeing people saying the bug is ugly…well, you’re ugly…I’M ugly…that’s life. Beg these devs to rub 2 brain cells together, and create a class of mounts that have various abilities, but leave my strider ALONE.

Player options are bad. The devs don’t like them. Play their way or beat it. We players think we do but we don’t.

Because I actually like the mount? Crazy, I know. And guess what? I’m still going to be running around on it even if I can water walk with any mount, mainly just to aggravate people who think that their own personal definition of “aesthetics” should be applied to everything and everyone they see.

Id NEVER have wasted my time grinding out that ugly mount.
I did it FOR WWing.
So now we’re going to have every mount in the game WWing…and say it makes sense because…you know…its ‘magic’…but then we had to remove stupid portals to nowhere because…you know…its ‘magic’.
