Water striders are ugly

I feel this way, too. I even went out and got the red one after hearing about the upcoming nerf just because I could. I hope seeing me on them makes these anti-strider people’s teeth grind. I only wish the striders could fly. I’ll have to pull out those flying bugs I got in WoD just to annoy the folks with insect phobias.

Agree they should leave the strider ability baked in.

Heck yeah bring on the water walking equipment so I can use any mount but the ugly bug for water walking can’t wait to have Invincible walk on water or my Kor’kron War Wolf.

So your fantasy world overrules my fantasy world is what you’re saying… Go pound sand.

Water Striders are ugly. I only use it to cross water so I don’t care. Kill mount equipment with fire.

Not even remotely close.
https://www.wowhead.com/item=147835/riddlers-mind-worm and its re-colors.

It’s revolting.

And it doesn’t even MOVE right, considering they re-purposed the flying serpent animation for it and it doesn’t fit right.

I had a guildmate so arachnophobic that I had to un-fravorite the Bloodfang Widow when we were teamed up. (Boy I love it though, great jumping animation… BOO! hahahahha!)

Because you don’t have one? I like them. I don’t agree with you, not in the least.

I don’t know about ugly but their mount special amuses me greatly.

I think they’re adoreable

So much this.

Look, they make a fantasy game. Is it too much to ask that they put just a smidgeon of thought into what they’ve done to create this mess?
With roughly what…700 mounts give or take…there’s gonna be some that people like, some they don’t.
I happen to think the strider is darn cute. I like it’s action, sounds, and abilities.
I happen to dislike the golem…a whole lot. I dislike the way it sounds, moves, and flies. But I use it on my alt with herbing, and I’ve never once complained about seeing them all over the place. As an engineer, I made them.

It makes no flipping difference whether or not someone likes a particular mount.
The fact remains that this company has created it’s own crisis by refusing to use their creative talents by giving the players more choices with mount abilities.
For cry’n out loud, a freaking BOAT that can’t float? A magical carpet that sinks as soon as it hits water or flies off a mountain?
Bliz created this mount, let us grind for it, left it in the game for 6 years or better, and now they want to break it, give us an inferior system to do the same things we could do before, and it boggles my mind how people are swallowing this ruse hook line and sinker and giving these lazy-assed suits accolades for basically giving them nothing.

Like someone else said in the thread that’s now well over 5000 posts, It’s clear they don’t give a rat’s backside what we think.
This has become a joke. Just leave the strider alone, implement your mount equipment, and do with it what you’re doing with the golem. Such an easy damn fix that seems to fly over their hideously expanded egos. Strider lovers will be happy. Strider haters will see less of them, it’s a win-win that for some stupid reason, bliz can’t wrap their heads around…even though they have a mound of examples of their previous failures to learn from.

Going out in public wearing clown makeup is certainly your prerogative, but it doesn’t mean I won’t laugh my butt off at your ridiculous self riding that joke of a mount.

And how long have you worked for Blizzard, sir?

The spider mount scares me every time it comes running up to me! Yuck! But I would have loved for blizzard to make it have a special where it could spin a web and walk up it, or climb walls. I think if people were going to pay so much for it, it deserves a special. (not that I’d ever buy one, no matter what special it has)

I love their special. Whomever thought it up deserves a raise! They did a good job on that mount!

Not really, a water walker wouldn’t be able to walk on water if an orc in full plate armour carrying bags and bags of ore and quest items jump on its back.

Well, that is something I have wondered about, but perhaps the size difference (in real life they are tiny bugs, but in WoW they are huge) makes up for it. I’m not a scientist so I can’t exactly be sure.

The weight plays a huge part in it, even if we assume that a horse sized bug can walk on water, throwing a big heavy player character with all their stuff is going to throw the weight off too much for it to work.

My mount is ugly therefore I should lose it?

No.

But you’re not losing it at all.

Sure I am. Just because you say I’m not doesn’t make it true.
