Here’s another reason why mount equipment is just ‘bad’ (if it’s been mentioned already, sorry… I try to keep up but it’s easy to miss things)
World PvE as a team will -blow-.
DefNyte has Saddle-chute because he doesn’t need WW. He jumps off cliffs to take shortcuts leaving his team behind.
Warrenlock has water walking because he’s got [demon skin] and doesn’t need no-daze, he takes a short-cut over a river, leaving his team behind.
Maxdamage - has slow fall and blink, invis, so goes with no-daze… he takes a short-cut through a big cluster of mobs, finally getting dismounted, he blink blinks and invis’s to get away, leaving his team behind.
Team cohesion is utterly wrecked … more than usual, because different classes will pick different default mounted buffs and they’ll prefer different routes through an area.
So… so much for MMORPG. The only teamwork that’ll happen is pug-n-done at WQ’s and instances/queues.
feature changes should make it EASIER and MORE DESIRABLE to team up not make it worse.
Keep the Water Strider as is. Period. I don’t really understand the logic behind taking it away. People that have it made a choice to spend time getting it.
Why remove water walking from the Strider??? Not logical.
I know I know you have gotten used to the smell and it feels safe and warm in there. Trust me I understand Blizzard, I do. But it’s time you removed your head from the rear part of you and saw the light.
We need a nice blue post saying ok the water strider will be keeping it’s abilities and is no longer able to use mount equipment.
Frankly at this point there is too much evil legal mumbo jumbo being written in this thread alone to risk it. I think actual lawyers are reading this looking for a nice class action lawsuit with a sweet blizzard pay off. You don’t want that, that’s scary.
No, it is not.
And I’ve seen plenty of reports that say you are quite definitely incorrect.
Immigration makes it seem as though the state is gaining the desired population that it needs to sustain all the garbage the powers that be try to enact, like housing and environmental unelected entities wave in our faces…but this state is circling the drain. And losing businesses and middle class faster than water through a strainer.
I once loved this state, Now it can rot for all I care. Can’t wait to #Calexit
Blizzard isn’t shaking in it’s boots over any type of legalities they might fear over flight, guilds, or grumbly little water bugs they’re taking away from us, trust me. I am giggling at that kind of talk and I’m certain they are too.
The decisions they’re making are business decisions. They cater to their constituents and shareholders, and that’s pretty much it.
As long as they can draw a line between A & B, or from the investors to increased investments…they are quite safe.
Even if the CEO is making crappy decisions, as long as there’s no real company shenanigans going on, all they’ll do is dump the responsible and redirect their strategy.
But none of what they’re doing is illegal. You can take that to the bank.
Which is fine… turn-over is natural, and CA has -more- than enough people to survive losing some.
WoW on the other hand feels like it’s nothing but exodus. If there is any immigration it seems negligible. Used to be I’d help people find their way around, because they were new, now, it’s like the few people I run into are always an alt of someone else.
It’s not turn-over, it’s attrition. That can’t be supportable. Blizzard can’t afford to be so flippant about minimal benefit changes that end up alienating long time players unless they’ve got a steady stream of new players jumping into the game. And as far as I can tell, they don’t.
You are right about them laughing off any notion of legal action over striders/portals/etc. That’ll certainly go nowhere fast.
AFAIK, there’s only the “Azure Water Strider”(MoP) and “Crimson Water Strider” (WoD/garrison). PTR handled the first correctly… nerfed both, but didn’t send out water-walking equipment to level 100+ alts if you ONLY had the crimson strider.
If there’s other striders, I don’t know about them.
Mounts
Golden Water Strider Summons and dismisses a rideable Golden Water Strider. This mount walks on water in non-battleground areas until damage is taken. Account wide. Account wide. 1.5 sec cast.
Jade Water Strider Summons and dismisses a rideable Jade Water Strider. This mount walks on water in non-battleground areas until damage is taken. Account wide. Account wide. 1.5 sec cast.
Orange Water Strider Summons and dismisses a rideable Orange Water Strider. This mount walks on water in non-battleground areas until damage is taken. Account wide. Account wide. 1.5 sec cast.
And they’re not showing available from Nat @ the Anglers Wharf, but require Anglers exalted.
I respectfully disagree with you. It was work to get that mount. I didn’t just run a couple of TW dungeons for rep tokens. I made it a point to go do those dailies every day in order to get the rep needed. I did that instead of doing other things that I enjoyed in the game with the sole purpose of getting the water-walking mount. I did not enjoy it at all but I did it for the mount. That my friend is work.
Then why complain about the bug, you made the choice to use it when there were other avenues available to you.
Past behavior predicts future behavior aka, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.
Because they like to gate everything. Why put 5 things in play when you can change out 3 and entice people into playing so they can try one of those “new” abilities out. Again, look at their past behavior and you’ll see how they will do stuff in the future.
