Really. I thought it was Polymorph. They even display that in the vanilla WoW cinematic.
They’re both pretty old, from like Warcraft 3. Along with some Arcane Intellect (it was called Brillance in the earlier games).
Just as iconic as each other.
Just like Bloodlust, Lightning, and Totems are for Shaman.
A class is a collection of spells, rather than just one.
Druids aren’t just cats, but cats bears and stags/trees/people/boomkin/things.
Reads “Battle for Azeroth”.
…
Ew.
And you were doing so well until you posted the pic of the vulpera
Careful when you speak to Warchief Nisha.
She’s going to lead us to the Mists of Vulperia next expansion in search of tinkerers and bards who know the last song to defeat the great void lord of the dark
The horde community was and still are happy about Vulpera.
Even Captain Eudora seems to be guiding the Vulpera into Hearthstone.
Just reminded me we could use more snake skulls. Plently of broken refti, could use a chunk of the head as a hat.
Dude Arcane Intellect is right there! Why would you make it cry like that?
Blizzard is more iconic.
It is.
But I guess it makes more sense as an active ability. A long cd might be boring but something like a water elem. summon of 25 secs, 20 sec cd and 3 charges would feel more like the old Archmage from WC3.
Idk. I think if there were 3 options instead of removing the pet completely would make more people happy.
Water elemental has gone through some iterations. It was once a cooldown. It is again. You aren’t losing it entirely, like Warlocks are losing the Observer.
I do understand not wanting it to be a cooldown though. I personally never used it, but I do feel for those who did.
None of the mages abilities are iconic. That talking staff might be however.
Take it back.
Blizzard/poly/slow/flameshield
i’d say Water elementals are def one of the most iconic spells…but polymorph/blizzard might be above it!
either way, these fantasy elements should almost always come first with class design imo…
I think if you are an Archmage in current retail WoW…let’s see:
you command a garrison, wielded an artifact weapon, have been educated by Khadgar himself, and killed the jailer…you should be able to command a water elemental AS A PET whenever you want.
Water ele is that thing you forget exists until it gets in the way of you looting corpses, right?
Sheep and Blink.
Water ele is the thing everybody specs out of because they hate pets.
