Anyone else disappointed with what they did with Rastakhan?
He has been eluded to for years, we finally get him in game, and he gets his crap together, just in time to be killed off. I really enjoied that part of zuldazar questing after he was almost assassinated and goes after all the usurpers.
After he gets killed by the alliance he is replaced by telanji, who I find incredibly boring. The only thing that makes her a "better leader" is the fact that, that line gets spouted all the time and it loses any credibly after Rasta goes after the council.
I'm still hoping that bwonsamdi decides to rez him like he does that gorilla, as some new form of loa blessed deathknight. Really doubt it will happen though.
Yes, but it's simply because the Horde can't have nice things. Some how I bet Sylvanas' plan kills old grandma lady Proudmore which no one really cares about to begin with and Blizzard will see it as a wash.

And it's disappointing that Katherine will probably die for parity. She isn't nearly as important or legendary as Rasta, so I don't even want her to die: it wouldn't make things equal, so why bother.
Yeah it's pretty disappointing, especially for Trolls in general. Last Expac the first Troll Warchief (who barely got any attention the last year) died a victim while the Alliance king died a hero after a sacrifice. Then we finally get the Zandalari to join, and the Alliance get to invade and kill their leader.

Alluded, eluded means to escape.
Anyway his death warrant was signed the instant they revealed Talanji, and then that signature was underlined a dozen times and starred with his deal with Bwomsamdi. So its really not that surprising.
What is disappointing is it doesn't really make any sense. His patron loa is Bwonsamdi now. Death should be no impediment to him defending the kingdom from the Alliance. Bwon should be able to revive him and every other troll slain by the Alliance to continue defending the city until the invaders are driven off.
But no, they had to make this a raid so the Alliance cleanse shop and Bwon just nopes out of the whole situation and it's left to the Horde to clean house.
For a king who has ruled since before the sundering, Rastakhan went down surprisingly easily without Rezan.
I get the writers want it to be a moment where the Horde loses something and it inspires us to fight the Alliance in a way that nothing up until this point has been able to, but with the alliance written so sympathetically it just doesn't land. It makes me resent the writers, not the Alliance.

It's disappointing but it's not a surprise, like Cirno said he's had a dozen death flags starting with Talanji's introduction. But I'm definitely very upset about it, we've been waiting to see him since vanilla and he had a good character arc in Zuldazar. It's a huge waste.
no one says it was suprising. Just that it's a waste of what could have been a great character.11/02/2018 02:40 PMPosted by Cirno11/02/2018 02:26 PMPosted by Smigeluded

I suppose. I feel like he got a decent amount, honestly. I figured at most he'd end up a raid boss and that was it. Dude instead stuck around for a while, was allied with the Horde, and then bit it.
So beats just becoming a loot pinata and that's it.
