They removed azerite emessaries. In the last 17 days horde has gotten 2 random loot emissaries with a low chance for azerite(I assume) and the one we got today gives 340 loot. I’ve gotten one piece of azerite armor from an incursion and I’ve done all of them. Cant get azerite armor out of Mythic chests now, it rarely drops from raids, and if someone does get a piece that they don’t need and someone else could use they’re incentivised to DE it so they can save for a better piece.
I thought the whole point of the vendor was to make it easier to get azerite gear?

It was actually changed to 370 loot today. It changed from 340 to 370 right in front of my eyes. Not that that will make you feel any better.
And YES WTF WITH THE AZERITE GEAR NERFS? It rarely drops from Emissarys. No more azerite in mythic chests.
They really love to extend one hand while slapping you with the other and yet all these stupid white knights keep parroting “well that’s what you asked for!” No it isn’t!

The loot systems in bfa remind me of a tornado.
Everything is flying all over the place and no one knows how to stop it.

No, it was to shut players up about the randomness of getting azerite gear. Now they can say, “look, you can target specific pieces with the traits you want, and buy it with the almost-nonexistent amount of currency you’ll be getting from all those azerite pieces that no longer drop.”

Yeah it seems that they’ve “replaced” the prior azerite gear emissary quests with the regular loot caches that we’ve been seeing recently.
Maybe it’s RNG that these are the emissaries that have been popping up?
I guess we’ll see over the next couple of weeks to see if they start showing up a little more frequently.
If not - then it must be another Blizzard-Djinn type of situation, where they give you one thing, but force you to trade something else in return.
In the end it doesn’t really put us in a forward position.
The emissaries and vendor are definitely lacking as far as RNG and having better ways for gear. It can definitely be better.

This is such a perfect description.

It’s called a band-aid.
People complained about the azerite system as it was so they came up with a new way to get the pieces we need.
Now they can say they listened to complaints and tried to give people what they wanted.
In my opinion everything now is focused on keeping people sated with small pieces of candy (new fox mount) (dread wake mount) in order to draw out the time people are playing without actually offering anything of substance.
At this point I’m of the opinion that it’s better just to take loot changes in stride. I don’t even consider the situation better or worse. Just a different hoop to jump through.

Trying to gear this rogue before the new raid and at this point I would take the old system back in a heartbeat. Sick of gold or ap emessaries every day. At least in 8.0 there was a steady stream of 370 azerite that was easily attainable.
I don’t know why they don’t either allow you to farm residiuum from m+ and raid bosses or guarantee an azerite piece from the weekly chest like they planned to do initially.

The vendors are to allow you to target specific azerite gear pieces/slots, as a form of bad luck protection.
Not to make it easier to get azerite gear in general.

The vendor should have been added along side the old system with emissaries still dropping pieces. if they were worried about people getting to much of the new mythical dust crap they could have just as easily made the pieces of azerite that came just from the emissary cache not give it.

I agree with you that they should have put the vendor in alongside the old system, but disagree that they should have made the gear from emissaries not give any of the new currency. The emissary caches were really the only feasible way to farm residuum. I don’t really think an extra 12-36 residuum per week (assuming the caches are dropping 370) can be called excessive when looking at the cost of 385 gear…particularly not when we’re mere weeks away from 385 being normal raid gear.

wtf…azerite is worse now GG blizz, like it wasnt bad enough
Now now you know they want to make things impossible by putting those imagined carrots up for you. I saw this happening with how the game state is. Hey look we now have vendors for three items in your inventory. Hee heee heeeeeee ok guys nerf the heck out of the drop rate, so they cant scrap for the currency! That way they will be chasing the imaginary carrot and we can milk six months more of no gear for them.

Yeah, I’m on the verge of quitting. All these loot changes are ridiculous. My RL asked that I level a MW for the new raid. I’m trying to gear and it’s becoming quite frustrating with the bugs and the changes. My sub was a gift, but I’m thinking of refunding the people who pitched in and just be done with WoW for now.

It’s just there to give the illusion that things are easier or that you have some amount of control over the gear you get from RNG. It is way to costly for most people to benefit.
The whole system in 8.2 better be something magical !
The main reason this is an annoying change is i recently came to alliance on this mage as my horde raid team and guild all unsubbed after we got 2/8M and trying to get into groups on frostmourne alliance at 360 ilvl is impossible even though i would clear 10’s on my main each week and now cannot even get into a +2 lol. and yes i know “make your own group”
