I think its stupid, its basically made ANYTHING in the game to have some kind of real life value in term of $ spent per hour.
but well… I just dont like it, the same way I dont like the boost being 75$ canadian. I mean, geez, that jut ridiculous, 75$ is like four month cost of wow, you must be really really lazy to do it and promoting idiotic game mechanic like this
People who don’t have a lot of free cash can earn gold ingame, purchase a token off the AH and put it towards their WoW subscription. It enables people like myself to do things like pay for Dragonflight with their account balance (which I did), and thats a huge help to the bottom line.
If for no other reason, this makes the Token a very worthwhile thing. It negates much of the negative connotations and has the added benefit of safeguarding people’s game and real life accounts so they don’t go buying gold from hack sites.
It was defined a long time ago, it has a standard meaning, that’s what many have been trying to tell you. You, again, are welcome to not take the literal definition. Word play can be fun and is common on the forum.
It only seems like I’m defensive from an opposing view. If you would stop ignoring those important " semantics " as you call them, then we could find common ground.
If your nose wasn’t so brown from being all caught up in an influencers " P2W " matrix, you might have time to understand.
They update the dictionary every year because over time language evolves and definitions change. Half the crap that comes out of zoomer mouths was previously baby gibberish which now has accepted meaning.
show me it then, because its only you and some other guy who is doubting it. Also regardless its semantics, if you want me to say pay for power then fine. its not a big deal to me
Most people understand what i am saying. Its just a couple argue semantics which makes no sense and just waste time
these items don’t really help you advance on advanced levels of the game , unless you mean beating mobs in the open world or heroic dungeons. either way it’s a pve game and you win nothing
I think this is really focusing on arbitrary details to debunk the notion that the WoW token is P2W. The money coming from players doesn’t really matter. At the end of the day, they had more gold than they had originally and they obtained it by spending real money.
