Was WOW token good for the player base overall

This is me. I have more money than time. I don’t buy boosts, but it’s nice to know that I can and get the ilevel I need to raid in a short amount of time.

WoW was always pay 2 win by this logic.

No because SE was against the ToS.

Also, “critical mass” is a thing.

Just a reminder, gold mop CM carries and garrosh runs were the final straw why we got wowtoken.

What does that matter? At the end of the day we’re talking about using RL money to buy Mythic raid gear.

Yes nothing in this game was more unenjoyable than farming gold removing that requirement was great. On a side note DF in whole feels much better as a causal player as I can log in maybe only 4 hours a week play 10 other games and never feel like I’m left behind needing to grind again i can simply enjoy the content with no pressure to feel I need to always be logged in.

I’ve bought tokens to upgrade heirlooms, mats and buy pets off the AH. I’m middle aged, and have very little patience and time to farm gold on top of level renown / rep, questing, etc. So I find tokens convenient.

However, I get the unintended downsides of the token.

That’s ridiculous. P2W has always been clearly defined by systems put forth by developers, not external factors.

If you define third party sources as evidence of a game being P2W, then everything is P2W because I could just shell out $30 and have anybody beat any game for me.

I think you’re on a spectrum. P2W is straight forward.

And I don’t care about anything it is you have to say if you can’t handle a simple conversation without insulting my intellect.

Be better.

I didn’t think you would be able to debate it

Be better.

What makes you think I’m going to spend time debating someone who clearly thinks lesser of me all because I have a different opinion on something so trivial?

I debated my points up and down this thread. Feel free to read them. Or don’t. I don’t really care. I’m not obligated to debate you. You’re not that special.

Just outlining the facts. It’s rare that isn’t important.

If nothing else, it’s a much MUCH better line in the sand when it comes to “using gold to win.” Because if someone is going to use the fallacious argument that “it’s always happened”, it’s much easier to follow that up with: yes-- but you were violating the ToS.

I mean, if you want to take the position of “anything goes”, then it’s not worth talking to you anyway. You can always lie, cheat, and steal… no matter what it is. Is your excuse “as long as you don’t get caught?”

This is pretty much it.

Buying gold from third party sellers: Not P2W because it violates ToS.

Buying gold from Blizzard themselves: P2W because that’s a system designed by Blizzard and enables boosting.

I’m not debating you, I don’t know you or care, I’m debating the thread and the twisted meaning for P2W you all come up with.

As no one has once been able to show Blizzard directly selling players end game stuff, the debate is closed until you do. WoW tokens are not P2W. They don’t even guarantee you gold. In theory you can buy a token and get no gold.

Don’t care enough to read.

Congratulations, or sorry that happened to you.

i have lots of alts…so i’m happy to see a eua
compliant way to buy gold.

You are fragile for someone on the forums. 526 posts too,

You’re joking, right? I use real money to buy tokens. Sell on the AH. Get game gold. Use gold to either buy heroic raid (and soon mythic raid) gear on AH. Or I can pay in-game gold for carries by other players.

This is all allowed by bliz and doesn’t violate their rules.

Fragility has nothing to do with it. I just don’t waste my time trying to convince people like you why I feel the way I feel. It’s as simple as that.

And you have more posts than me, so I don’t know what you think you’ve accomplished in pointing that out.
