Was Vol'jin the best warchief of the Horde?

  1. He freed the Horde from the yoke of a tyrant and ushered in a new age of honour and dignity for the Horde.

  2. He successfully led the Horde to victory against the Iron Horde on Draenor.

  3. He sacrificed himself to ensure that the Horde would have a new dawn after the Broken Shore disaster. It is solely thanks to Vol’jin’s sacrifice, only thanks to Vol’jin, that the Horde survived at the Broken Shore.

  4. He was manipulated and corrupted by Sylvanas and the Jailer into naming Sylvanas warchief. Sylvanas became warchief through her manipulations of Vol’jin. This adds a layer of tragedy to the character that is Vol’jin, a tragic ending.

In conclusion: Is Vol’jin the best warchief the Horde had? Should the Horde seek another warchief like Vol’jin? Your thoughts on this?

Most likely.

Thrall is a racist who picked Garrosh because of his misguided Orc bias.

Voljin picked Sylvanas because… the hand of valor, or something… even Sylvanas is annoyed about his Loa bringing her out of the Shadows

But Sylvanas did help save the cosmos, while Garrosh just turned into powder puff.

So, the Warchief Voljin chose to replace him was better than the Warchief Thrall chose to replace him.

If we judge a leader by who they choose to lead in their place, Voljin is the better Warchief.

Uhm, did you not play Shadowlands?

He picked Sylvanas because Sylvanas manipulated and corrupted him with fake visions and lies.

Sylvanas also saved Varian in the Broken Shore cinematic intro to gain the trust of the Alliance and have one fewer obstacle in her ascension as Warchief.

Sylvanas had plotted everything from the beginning to usurp the throne and install herself as Warchief. This adds a tragic note to Vol’jin’s ending.

Vol’jin didn’t do anything as Warchief…

At the same time he didn’t abandon them when the world was on fire (Thrall), alienate his entire faction (Garrosh), nor lead them into another war with the Alliance then be stupid enough to serve a half-naked, clearly evil, Saturday morning cartoon villain (Sylvanas).

As the name might suggest, it’s good for Azeroth if the Warchief just does nothing.
