Was threaten with mass reporting

Hello, i was raiding with my guild tonight. I never talk on Discord for the raid. Next thing I know I was kicked from my guild and getting whispered about mass report threats. i was using a Sunder Count addon, and I was told that’s why I was kicked and then threatened with mass reporting from ex-guild members. I am afraid to log on now and feel like I need to create a new character so they don’t report me. I feel like I was bullied and threaten over a simple addon! What do I do? do I just quit? i don’t want to log back in and get reported!

Log in and do your thing. If you get smacked, appeal. That’s all you can do.

is there anything i can do?

Yes. Be unafraid to live your life.

Just play the game, report/ignore when necessary, and disengage from them.

If this actually happened as you describe, this guild is in your rear view mirror and you can be happy about that. They can’t get you banned over using an addon, if it was just counting sunders or something - that’s ridiculous. Just play the game and ignore these guys.

If that’s the case they did you a service lol.

Two seconds later…

HMMMMMMMMM

you’ve already been reported, so it’s safe to log back in.

Feel for the OP.

Make a ticket stating that you are being threatened and harassed by exguild members. State names, times, and location. Protect yourself in advance instead of fighting an uphill battle later.

sorry to ask but wtf is a sunder counting addon?
like sunder armor? why the heck would this be a problem?

Because some soft officers probably werent doing their fair share of sunders.

this entire post sounds fake to me.

its not the officers responsibility to sunder, its the dps warriors and they each only need to sunder one time.

ive never seen a raid group not have 5+ dps warriors in addition to the 3-4 tanking warriors.

if every warrior (only dps really needs to do this tho) sundered one time, the boss would instantly have 5 stacks.

Yeah they werent doing this and my addon called them out for it and that is what got me kicked. because they weren’t using sunder 1st gcd. and some officer power tripped about it and kicked me from guild and raid because of it the addon.

It is understandable that players w/positions of authority in a guild will be defensive if called out by a Raider in chat for all to see.

However, you need not worry after the fact about reports. Addons are allowed and legal.

Edit: I’d be hesitant to use the addon again in large group content though, because it will ruffle feathers - unless you have received permission ahead of time.

Getting butt hurt over an addon 2025 is new to me. That guild must be very soft and sensitive if they don’t want warriors to do good damage. lol sounds like guild was pretty bad if that was the case!

This post sounds made up, but if it is true, that’s pretty pathetic…

People can threaten you with mass reporting all they want, the reality is mass really does not exist as they want you to think it does. There is no automated “suspension” the most that can happen is a temporary squelch which then escalates to a GM for review. So even if they all reported you, it wouldn’t have any more impact than a single one of them reporting you.

Each scenario will get reviewed by a GM for chat offenses, then unless you actually break the TOS no action would be taken against you. Simply put the people who threatened you on ignore. Never argue with them, they want to bait you into getting into a toxic argument or swearing, if they can get you to react they win, since then they have something they can report which could result in an action. If you get threats like that, simply right click their name, and report them for harassment and being toxic then simply move on, and yes they can get suspended for that type of behavior as it can be considered toxic.

As for the sunder counter, at most they could flag it as a “chat” violation, and unless it was spamming ever 2 seconds, there really isn’t anything there, also if they were going to report you, they really needed to do it then, not hours or days after, as on a chat violation it sends your recent chat for review.

So understand the TOS, don’t swear, don’t be toxic, simply move on as it sounds like this guild has issues you probably don’t want to deal with.
