Seriously, talk to this guy. Travel to the other continent. Do one thing. Travel back to the other continent. Pick up quest. Travel to the other continent. Then back to the other continent. Back and forth, back and forth.
Such a waste of time.

The .5 questline was designed as a way for people who didnt raid to continue their gear progression beyond UBRS/Dire Maul/Strat/Scholo. It was intended to be a highly involved, highly engaging and long-reaching quest line that made each step feel like a major milestone had been cleared.
And thats exactly what it accomplished. If you dont like doing the .5 questline: Don’t.
Welcome to the classic WoW. Ony attunement should have warned you.
yes, kinda tier 0.5 is there for people who don’t like raiding and want more of a solo / small group experience to gear up.
After doing it all yesterday it only took me about half a day? But then again I’m a tank so I have ALOT of pull when it comes what we clear in brd lol (ony atunement)
And yet .5 gear is on every website for pre-raid bis and will be used to bar entry to raids in seasonal content for SoD.
Only by idiots i wouldnt want to raid with anyway.
It was designed as another one of Blizzards infamous time gates and gold sinks which isn’t designed for limited timed content like SoD.
The quests were designed almost 20 years ago as a way for non-raiders to get raid-quality gear or as catchup gear for new players/alts. So yes, they were designed to take time.
Vanilla made players earn things a little more and was less fast-paced and efficiency-oriented than modern WoW. Consider too established players at the time were concerned about giving new players or alts too much too quickly, as it might invalidate the resources (time, gold, effort) they put into their own character’s progression.
Well, that gear isn’t even supposed to be released before MC anyhow.
But y’all are choosing to play the meme mode, so what would you rather? They nerf the quest, just give you the gear?
Allow us to buy it with tokens like the .0 gear.
sounds good to me, I can’t see how it would make a big diff since it will be mostly replaced as soon as people start to raid (if people aren’t already raiding xD i haven’t played sod since p2).
Quest chain gear can be tokens and raid gear can be kept in raids.
Good thing it’s optional
Considering I’ll be replacing it with Tier 1, I saw no reason to do it period.
I’ve seen this same tired phrase used over and over and over on the forums in some manner or another. If you don’t like slavery, don’t buy a slave? It’s such a stupid attempt at a gotcha, provides zero valuable input and should be considered trolling and earn you a 200 year ban.
This excuse is pointless. They tuned the D2 sets to be ilvl optimized in SOD. They revamped the gear but not the quests and that was a big mistake. If the gear was untouched then the quests being untouched is totally fine, but that’s not the case.
thousands of people experiencing the awful questline rogues had to go through to get their darkmantle in 2020
you literally don’t have to grind them… most people didn’t they just skipped it and went straight to MC gear.
With the amount of parse checking & gatekeeping for raids, is the 0.5 tier set almost required just to be able to set foot in a pug MC raid?
