Garbage trinkets. Garbage stat allocation (For Mastery peeps). Garbage balancing. etc. etc.
Do you consider BRD (2024) a wash?
lmao.

It’s not a matter of consideration.
It is. Simple as that.
It’s part of a celebration and it blows, so yeah.
Pretty sure it’s not meant to be a competitive gear source.
Cleared it once, will never step into it again. Never have i ever seem such underwhelming loots from a heroic raid.
The failure wasn’t the raid itself. It was the fact that it was released unfinished and untested.
Not really, because they actually reworked it. Unlike the 10th anniversary where we literally just got scaled up Molten Core.
Was able to clear all but the last two bosses on my 610 ilvl warlock alt on an off night. Got a few upgrade pieces which were put in line to be thrown into the catalyst.
The gear isn’t really the problem about it though, it’s mostly how weird the mechanics are where it’s mostly about being in a constant, never-ending state of dodging for some of them or things just being a visual mess (like the Seven). A joke was that you have to dodge more Swirlies on a Heroic BRD boss than you have to dodge in any Mythic raid encounter in Palace.
Its good as a source of tokens to buy the transmog and toys from the event so id say the raidfinder was at least a success in context of the 20th anniversary.
As a raid on its own, it’s just reinforcing the lessons of crucible, mid-tier raids that are harder than current content will get mostly ignored for the initial season content after the first clear novelty wears off; this time they didnt even try with the bis bonus affect gear that made crucible worth dragging your guild friends kicking and screaming back to reclear for some classes.
It’s niche content. It’s not competetive by way of an RWF, there’s no need for it to be perfect. It’s just there for fun.
I think it’s fine, a better experience than 10th year Molten Core, that raid was waaaay too long for the people who ran it. Then they put a low chance for cosmetic drops at the end, I’m not running a painful raid for 5 hours to not get it!
Do you have a clue how dumb it would be to put BiS pieces in a time limited event dungeon?
Seriously?
Its catch up gear and for enjoying the raid. Thats it.
What a ridiculous thread.
I ran it once (on heroic), and it was overtuned for what I felt it should have been.
No.
HoJ is pretty decent.
More importantly the raid is fun. Just… not in LFR.
I think the raid itself is great, maybe a bit much visual clutter for some fights, but overall pretty nice. The problem is that the gear sucks.
Its the highmaul blackrock issue. Raids don’t share tiers well anymore
Only thing I don’t like is it seems like the mobs health is out of whack. It takes for freakin ever to kill these bosses.
Yeah, definitely overtuned for the gear it dropped. It was fun to run once because you got to figure out the new mechanics…but no real reason to do it more than that.
However, you get currency to buy specific upgrades, which was nice for alts.
I think this terrible reasoning for awful itemization on timewalking items needs to be drop off.
“Mastery wasnt a stat back then so… yeah it makes sense” yeah well… remember when TW were supposed to be something for “fun” and to visit and remember? now it has turn into another scaling fest than anything else.
