I’ve been so burned out on World Quests I find it impossible to do any that don’t reward a piece of gear or seem fast enough as to be painless. Ever since I hit Exalted with the Tortollan on Vex here, a Turtle has never again made it to the water.
Can’t blame you. I do the world quests in a zone mostly for lorekeeping purposes and if I need gold really, really badly.
But i’v only hit exalted with the Honorbound and can’t be bothered to do the other races, it’s just so endlessly exhausting to run around the map trying to do everything.
Tell me about it… I need to go back to Legion and do World Quests in Suramar to find that one piece of dialogue where Tyrande says that she wanted to use Nightborne Civilians as bait… FML.
I don’t recall that one, though I don’t have a hard time believing it, sadly. I mean, if Tyrande see’s the Nightborne as a means to an end (destroying the Nightwell to thwart the Legion), I don’t see Sylvanas having reservations.
Amusing note: the Alliance does in Raid Finder sound a lot more villainous. Mekkatorque yells down from on high that all of this city is Alliance property, and the Jadefire Masters look down with disdain on the ‘Troll Sympathizers’ for trying to save the city.
The second one is weird because it’s a Lightforged and a Kul’tiran, when did the Dreanei become troll racists?
That’s the most surprising part for me actually, I at first thought this was all contained to the flashback. Nope, that’s the first three bosses of the raid!
No wonder that Troll scouts story doesn’t seem that outlandish to them.
They’ve been doing it for a while now. I forget where it is exactly, I think the war campaign or an incursion, but the Alliance troops shout about how they will conquer the Zandalari.
There’s also some interesting notes to take from this raid as well. When we first arrive, it doesn’t seem like this is something actually happening out of the way for the Alliance, these first three bosses happen simultaneously. We actually reach Grong FIRST, kill him, and then raise him to fight the Alliance.
However as we’re fighting up the steps Jaina starts slowing us with a barrage of freezing spells, presumably slowing us down enough for the Alliance PC to reach Rastakhan.
Tyrande Whisperwind says: We must spread word of the Alliance's arrival. Post notice throughout the city that the reign of the Grand Magistrix will soon be ended. Inspire the shal'dorei to resist!
Tyrande Whisperwind says: The more shal’dorei that take up the fight, the fewer of my people who will be lost in the liberation of Suramar.
Tyrande Whisperwind says: Elisande's forces are waylaying refugees fleeing Suramar through the Crimson Thicket. A perfect opportunity to test their skills in battle!
Tyrande Whisperwind says: The once-proud shal’dorei attack their own people? This situation is even more desperate than I imagined…
I generally don’t stand in the aoe stomp like seven times in a row.
I guess they would be dangerous to the LFR crowd who keeps standing in the fire though.
Very interesting. Doesn’t quite sound like Gelbin to say that, but I suppose he could’ve been swept up in battle or something. Got carried away.
As for the Lightforged Draenei, nothing they do surprises me, and I love it. They’re such crusaders, it’s wonderful. The Alliance desperately needed to own the Scarlet Crusade, but now we don’t even need them anymore. We’ve got the Lightforged Draenei!
Honestly I have to admit, making the Lightforged incredibly zealous, racist, prejudiced, etc… is a pretty great way to set them apart from normal Draenei.
It’s kind of an interesting actually. The Allied races for the Alliance are a lot more morally ambiguous, the things that even the Lightforged do are pretty questionable.
By contrast two of the three Horde Allied Races are much more morally upright, maybe this is Blizzards attempt to ‘balance us out’ as it were?
I don’t remember one where she says she wants to use civilians as bait, but man do I want to punch her in the throat every time I hear “the more of THEIR forces are fighting, the fewer of MY forces are put at risk.”
FU Tyrande, your camp is three tents and a tree. No wonder the nightborne joined up with the Horde; the blood elves actually put some effort in.
