Was phase 2 released early?

Just curious. It’s pretty rough without an epic mount or full epics.

Vanilla players had 136 days to reach max level (and gear up) before the honor system was added.

Classic players had 80 days.

We’re on a drastically accelerated schedule.

Ok thanks so much for the numbers. Yeah that explains while this feels different (worse).

Whether it was released too early or later on, the problem still would remain, the factions would be still unbalanced and people will still whine about getting ganked.

There are other things that needed released first. Proper faction rewards. Still no +agility to weapons.
A &%@#ing keyring. Too many things needed released. On top of that, when they pick and choose what to add and delay doesn’t make sense. They’ll add layering, which was exploitable, but not BGs.

Not entirely accurate. Majority of players do not have epic mounts after 80 days, nor are they geared out in T1. Thus, the rushed release schedule has had a significant impact.

Furthermore, the decision to rush content ahead of schedule seems to be having the opposite effect of their intended goal (keeping players engaged and subbed).

Funny that… Chalk one up for the #nochanges

Still won’t save them from a gank squad or raid if caught in the open.

It is, but you’re not entitled to a fun run

True. But having an epic mounts probably reduces the number of corpse runs to BRD, etc. The oh crap there is a gank squad raid ahead can be dealt with vs trying to escape on a 40% mount.

yes twitch streamers were crying there was no content and blizzard released it early and now they are whining about wpvp beciase they are getting destroyed.

so expect bgs to release early.

I don’t think it was released too early personally. Two months to level was more than enough. Everyone knew the honor system was coming and therefore it was bad for them to be within 48-60.

My only annoyance is patch 8.3 which you can play casually was told to people “Yeah we’re giving you all a couple months to enjoy the holidays and prepare.”

Meanwhile the honor system which you have to orient your life around to push 14 they threw on us like “Yeah btw this launches in two weeks.”

It’s not enough time for casual players.

Blizzard didn’t include actual dates in their timeline.

Vanilla players had 136 days to reach max level before the honor system was added. Classic players only got 80 days.

I played hardcore on launch and was 60 just as the 2nd week was coming.

I leveled an alt super casually to 60 before phase 2.

How casual of a player are you? 30 minutes a day? I literally leveled my mage like two hours a day and still did it and it wasn’t with ZF aoe grinding or instances.

What’s your time /played on your super casual alt?

You clearly level quickly compared to most players:

While the timeline of Classic has been pushed up from Vanilla’s timeline, keep in mind that players of Classic know what to expect and have been preparing for each phase since launch. We are still playing the game with 1.12 classes and itemization, 15 years of experience and a literal layout of whats to come. Factor in all those things and WPvP this time around is much worse than 2004/2005.

7 days played and it was 60. If I utilized ZF farming or anything else it would have been done in about 5. For reference, my fastest time on Light’s Hope was 5 days on launch with a rogue strictly questing.

There are many players with 7 days /played and they’re not level 60.

Not everyone is as efficient as you at leveling.

That’s the thing. I wasn’t doing it efficiently. I was spending time on the AH since it’s my auction alt also. Like what counts for inefficient these days? Killing four mobs an hour?

Casual players spend time on the AH too.

I don’t know why people expect casual/average players to be more efficient with their leveling.

This is significantly faster than the average player, just fyi
