Yeah, tying plot to a grind is a terrible idea. And the writers scratch their heads and wonder why people don’t get invested, stonewalling it doesn’t help their case.

Its just not fun content for me.
Like you gotta drip feed content, okay, fine. bad idea, but okay. Release the story in batches, with the delay in new drops being the only impediment. That way, later on, when new people come, they can go and do the whole story, or till the most recent drop.
Wait, is this about the new 10.1 story or the 10.0 campaigns?
10.0, only thing that blocks the 10.1 story is time and a sark kill
10.0 really could use adjustments of when the campaigns are accessible. Some of the level choices are goofy. Dragonscale Expedition probably the most egregious one.
The grind isn’t that bad.

They just made it like a single player game tho where you gotta do a bunch of sandboxy stuff to join a faction like in oblivion. Or skyrim.
You people really need to have your eyes checked Embers of Neltharion chapters is not gated by anything the last chapter is timegated by the release of the last LFR wing.

It is? My Dracthyr at renown 2-3 was able to do all of the campaign up until they gated it behind the raid.

Uh when I looked for the next quest in the log list it wasnt with that dragon lady. It said MUST BE RENOWN 13 with that particular faction for it to open up.
Not interested in any rep grinds or renown garbage
Rep should be faster and accountwide.
I genuinely miss the days of being able to grind rep with tabards in dungeons. Maybe these days it might be worth expanding that to overworld kills or event completion (ie, while wearing X tabard receive X rep when you complete an event or kill a rare spawn). I enjoy the idea in theory, but I don’t have time enough to grind rep “traditionally” anymore.
I say NO because blizz devs would make getting the tabard a ridiculous grind.
Current Blizzard would tie story content to it and cap the max rep you can get per week with it on.
Renown grind should be faster if they are trying to push story , i agree. Or at least dont tie the campaign story to the renown . New players arent gonna wanna grind for renown just to see what happens in the story . They will just youtube it and cancel the subscription .
