Was flying to Uldum, ready to try to gear up my 189k HP Pally a bit

Passed a 503k HP Rogue and was like, “Whoa, whoops, had a lapse in judgment for a moment there.”

(No pun intended.)

I don’t get it.

This pun was intended, own it! It’s a good one, too.

I mean, it wasn’t, but it was probably one of those puns that were subconsciously influenced.

Does Judgement cause people to dismount or something? I don’t really partake in much WPvP.

No. My point is that passing a Rogue with more than 250% of my own max HP really reminds me how hopeless trying to catch up is. I’m better off unsubbing until Shadowlands, collecting mogs with my remaining sub time.

A couple days ago, there was a Warlock (without Demon Armor) with like 530k HP. The level of gear is just insane right now. And that’s not even mentioning essences and corruptions.

Miserable expansion. Gotta wait for Shadowlands to play WoW again. Newcomers/returning players not welcome.

Ah, now I see. Yeah, despite some of the catchups, it’d take too long to gear each alt up to Mythic+ or Raid endgame. I usually just go for 445 ilvl, that’s good enough for me when it comes to the content I enjoy (world).

It’s not exactly hopeless. At 189k HP, you’ve got a lot of easily replaceable gear, some of which will be replaced just by doing the legendary cloak questline. And as you’re catching up, it’s not like they are going to be getting much better gear, so you can catch up. Or at the least become well enough geared that the difference shouldn’t be deal breaking.

Well, even worse than that… At least PvE’ers get to go up the PvE ladder in order to keep PvE’ing.

But me, a PvP’er, still would have to go up this PvE ladder in order to do anything in PvP. A total nightmare.

I’m literally unable to enjoy any PvP environment this entire expansion unless I FINISH the PvE climb first. (Which, again, can’t really happen either.)

Just, ugh.

I wish you were Alliance so I could run you through some normal dungeons! Do you have any guildies who can take you? They are pretty easy to solo with ilvl 440+, and they drop 400 gear! If you go through the questline to get the legendary cape, you can get a free 470, too.

Uh I mean… I have 12 level 120’s all geared so… it’s not that bad.

You’re overreacting. Go do the stuff. Sure I wish there was a way to skip it but I got most of my fresh 120’s to 400k+ hp within a day or two.

Cmon now.

Yeah it’s frustrating. If you’re willing to keep playing, you can do the following:
1). Get your first free essence from the Nazjatar intro (Magni will call for you)
2). Get your legendary cloak
3). Run around doing WQ’s until you eventually get 445ilvl gear

As you get more geared up, you can try pushing for some visions and keys. But if you really want to grind out essences with this being your main… just don’t bother unless if you want to complete things.

I made a new warrior the other day to goof around with. I got to goldshire and saw all these decked out level 120 people. After seeing that I laid right down there in the road then gave up on life and died.

This is total bs. My character should have come right out the door at max level and equipped with raid gear. I’m quitting the game.

There’s this word. Incremental, I think it is. Blizzard needs to embrace this word.

Questing/Crafted Green -> Dungeon/PVP/Crafted Blue -> Raiding/PVP/Crafted Purple -> Top Tier Raiding/PVP Purple

The power up from one level to the next should be small. Incremental.

Either lie or carried by guild. Literally one or the other. You choose which one.

You can’t just formulate words together that break reality & physics.

Its been like this at the end of every expansion dude. You could just turn war mode off and go from there until you’re at a comfortable gear level as well.

That’s mmos in general dude, there is going to be a severe discrepancy in stats between a player whose progressed through to the end of the expansion and one just starting.

Well the annoyance is that other MMO’s don’t try to pump out expansions every 1.5 years. The reality is that I’m considering going to FF14 simply because I probably CAN catch up and then enjoy PvP (in fact, I hear they use PvP templates & stuff, and I could literally hit max level and my character would be on par with anyone else in PvP).

The annoyance is that there’s still a good chunk of time left in BFA, but I can’t play the game for that chunk of time. It’s a dead zone for people in my position. Blizzard is so obsessed with their numbers & charts, so why don’t they get smart and finally fix their systems? Especially PvP… even though PvP is a smaller portion of the playerbase… Oh well, I guess…

That depends on your goal. I am a returning player from Cata whose goal was having fun playing the game and I am having a wonderful time questing all over Azeroth and company on various Alliance characters (level 20-105) with several Horde characters waiting in the wings.

Maybe if you stopped worrying about the destination and focused on the journey, you might have a better time.

(Interestingly, I also went to Uldum for gear but it was because my warrior’s then-outfit was mismatched and kinda obscene. I wanted a plain, conventional set that could be worn under a Stormwind tabard and matching cloak. Found a look I can live with and am pretty happy.)

That’s false and you know it. WOW traditionally has a 2 year release cycle on its expansions. BFA was released in August of 2018, Shadowlands is going to be a quarter 4 release in 2020. Legion was August 2016, WoD was Novemeber 2014. In comparision, FF14 had Heavensward in June 2014, Stormblood in June of 2017 and Shadowbringers in July of 2019, literally the same release window as Blizzard.

You could because the gearing process in FF14 is less linear, there’s less emphasis on gearing through raid and more emphasis on crafting and dungeon queues. Its a much more casual community in general. Their PVP does use templates, but that doesn’t matter because the pvp playstyles are different from the pve playstyles (Also PVP in FF14 is considered a meme, but whatevs.)

To put it in perspective, search my name on youtube, just posted another video about 15 minutes ago. (TD Double Clap)
One shot two players at ~500k HP each, as a Tank.
The expansion is over folks, catch up was about a month or two ago.
