What did players do in Deepholm back in cata days?
Deepholme is an open world questing zone with one dungeon and some dailies for rep.
And my favourite zone to quest thru.
Yes, it was the second zone in the progression after either Hyjal or Vashj’ir.
What do you mean by open world? All zones seem to be open world
Yes, it was.
You’d end up there around 82-83 back in Cata.
The Cataclysm leveling route was:
Mt Hyjal OR Vash’jr
Deepholm
Uldum
Twilight Highlands
If you fully completed each zone with no heirlooms, you’d hit 85 in early Twilight Highlands.
And never forget the Aeonaxx campers…
Oof.
It was a leveling zone + Therazane dailies for rep at 85. Also like someone above said, there was a rare spawn that dropped a mount like the time-lost protdrake.
No, all zones are not open world.
For example, Wintergrasp is a world PvP zone and only open to your faction during the times your faction is in control of it.
Everyone is flagged for PvP in Wintergrasp. The raid is only available if your faction controls the zone. But it’s still possible to do some dailies in there regardless of who controls it.
I actually liked Deepholm a lot for questing. Could usually hammer that place out in 1 or 2 sittings.
It was simply one of the cata levelling zones. If I recall correctly it was one of the “mid level” zones.
Hyjal and Vash were the starting zones, Uldum and Twilight Highlands the end zones with Deepholm in between.
Was actually a pretty good zone imo.
Yes.
Quests.
There’s also a dungeon that drops a mount, and another rare like the TLPD that also drops a mount, but you’ve got to mount it in mid-flight in order to kill it before it’s minions kill you.
They did the dailies that were needed for the rep grind there and farmed the purple crystal dragon mount lol
You can enter wintergrasp at any time. It does not have to be during the battle. And players of the opposite faction can go through the zone. The only thing you can’t do if you don’t control it is VoA.
It is the same with Tol Barad, where the controlling faction gains access to BH and the extra dailies.
It’s a questing zone where you get to repair the world pillar and help out the Earth Elementals. Also there’s a spot where Deathwing rested where he got those metal plates, but it’s not really that memorable tbh
Honestly? BFA just makes me miss Cata. It was so much nicer in comparison until they ruined it.
It was the best zone in Cataclysm. In fact, it’s a mini-underworld with amazingly dense questing and not a single waste of space. It concentrated players and made for an amazingly alive zone. Didn’t last many levels, but it is one of the best designed zones in WoW.
Yes, it was a leveling zone in cataclysm. you started in either Vashjir or Hyjal (vashjir, though bearutiful in many parts, was a PITA to level in, so most people went hyjal). then everyone was funneled from those two zones to deepholm. after that is was Uldum, and you dinged 85, max level at the time, in twilight highlands.
there may have also been a select amount of dailies in uldum, deepholm and twilight highlands, IIRC, but don’t take my word on that. its been a long time.
