That’s incorrect. 2.0 marked the end of Vanilla. It’s purpose was to prepare for the expac. On a server where TBC isn’t planned, 2.0 will never happen.
You’ll most likely get progression servers however, so it’s moot.
The entirety of 2.0 no probably not, it has a lot of class changes and general game changes that were meant for BC.
Just the 2.0 honor system though could easily be used.
yes but x-realm BGs were also part of the planning for TBC. It is not so black and white, parts of 1.12 were for TBC too, so tbh its best to pick the nice parts that go well with what we have in classic atm, 2.0 Honor system would be nice with that.

The WSG portal only changes gameplay if your idea of gameplay entails removing people to play against, which was not a part of the vanilla mindset.

TBC had its own pre-patch, 1.12 - 1.12.2 is vanilla still.
