I totally forgot that was a thing till I started looking over old gear and BiS lists. The rogue tears are going to flow like the rivers of ancient Babylon.

I mean, best in slot is best in slot.
People need to realize/remember that armor type was far less important than the actual stats on the gear in Vanilla. Prot Warriors were pretty much the only ones needed to ensure they were fully geared in their highest armor type.

I started in Wrath and warriors were still trying to get that BIS leather piece for Amour Penetration stat. It’s going to happen and everyone is going to let it slide, but atleast I will have my popcorn ready for those dungeon parties.

Well itemized dps plate is pretty rare until at least BWL. Even as a long time Rogue main I understand when a Warrior rolls on my Truestrike Shoulders.
Oh but stay away from my Viskag. You get Deathbringer.

And hunters will do the same for leather and melee weapons
I played a rogue in TBC and remember a couple times being beaten by a warrior on some leather. I thought it was lame, but accepted the circumstances.
I’m just anxious when it happens, however it happens for people who forgot or didn’t play until after Blizz enforced armor types. They’re just gonna be like “…wait what? He needs those Devout Shoulders? Isn’t he a Paladin?”

And cloth wearing druids and cloth wearing shaman. Cloth was just better statted for the most part.

Don’t know why everyone says fury warriors wear leather. at most they wear truestrike shoulders, rest is mail/plate
Oh the irony of a hunter complaining about another class rolling on their gear.
It’s not really “Rogue tears” if the pieces are itemized so well for pretty much every physical DPS. Armour is almost worthless in PvE as a DPS, as if you’re going to take a hit, you’re probably going to die.
Just off the top of my head the Devilsaur set is amazing pre-BiS.

My point was less on the mechanics of it and more on the culture shock of going back in time to when downgrading armor for BiS stats was legitimately a thing, especially for those who didn’t start playing till after.
eh, you get more use out of titanic leggings and reiver claws/vice grips.

Significantly more expensive and not in with Classic launch, and the set bonus is the 2% on top of 2% crit and 64 AP. Reiver just has the Strength and crit%, and the legs are amazing but again… not available.
even so. devilsaur set is bought, not rolled for.

As a Prot Warrior, I remember rolling against Hunters for the Bone Slicing Hatchet and facing some grief. I think every pre-raid Hunter farmed Strat for two. But it is a fine tanking weapon and BiS pre-raid for Orcs.
