Hey all, long time WoW player here leveling up a Warrior in Classic and loving it. I’ve been looking at guides and they’re recommending Engineering? When I looked at the items you can create I was kind of puzzled as to why they would recommend that? Can any experienced Warriors share their thoughts on it please?
Thank you,
Bombs for aoe damage, threat, and stun. Plus useful goodies for pvp.

Thank you. But isn’t Free Action, Swiftness, Str, Health pots just as good or better?
What level is your Warrior? What are the professions on your main?
Mining/Skinning, Herbalism/Skinning until you’re 40, then drop a gathering profession for Engineering after you’re purchased your level 40 mount (or just start with Engineering if your main can bankroll your alt).
You can always purchase potions from the AH; you have to be an Engineer to use anything that isn’t … EZ Thro Dynamite.

Mining plus blacksmith.
You can change bs to eng later if you want to pvp. But while leveling bs is pretty useful.

Engineering is the BiS raiding profession for almost every spec and every class. You can buy potions and blacksmithing gear, you can’t buy (and use) high end grenades and niche engineering gear if you’re not an engineer.
For pvp, regardless of your spec or class, engineering items provide the most utility and are more helpful than any other profession.
Especially as a warrior, using something like the rocket boots to close the gap on a hunter or mage can win you the battle. Using the mind control helm to run people into the lava, stop them from attacking while you bandage, forcing them to heal you, or even just blowing their cooldowns is the best. And let’s not forget the 30 second CC you can get from the goblin helm. Run into 2 rogues and can’t handle both? Incapacitate one for 30 seconds, kill the other, bandage, and wipe out the second.

But as others have said, leveling engineering can be expensive so if you’re using it on your first character it’s advised that you use 2 gathering professions until you get your L40 mount, then drop one for engineering. I power leveled engineering on my paladin about a month after classic launched and I bought all the mining materials needed. It cost me roughly 300 gold to go from L1 to L300. And that doesn’t include the rare recipes like shadow and fire reflectors. So be ready to empty the bank to get the best profession. Side note, mining goes really really well with engineering because all your engineering items require ore and bars.

Thank you all! Great info.
I chose alchemist & herbalist personally (PvE player). Healing & buff potions are handy.

Engineering is required for all classes at high levels of play in both PvE and PvP
Although you may want to build a bank first before u go engi…Get a stock of ore/herbs

Engineering + Mining is standard.
But I think drop mining for enchanting would be better . You can reserve all loot and disenchant it .

Definitely skinning and leatherworking. For all the meta BiS pserver leatherboi warrior gear.

Engineering is useful for any part of the game but moreso for pvp. Its a solid choice and most people regardless of class pick it. If you want money making methods however go herb or mining/skinning.
Assuming you don’t have prior funding I’d recommend going mining/skinning while leveling. Bank mining mats to level engineering in the future. Drop skinning when you no longer need UBRS for gear (recommend keeping skinning for black dragonscales) and pick up engineering.
Regardless of your early choice, your endgame professions should always include engineering. Personally I would also keep mining because jump runs are one of your best options for gold as a warrior, but you can do whatever you want with that second profession.
I disagree. Blacksmithing is a money trap. And the single most useful thing you can get while leveling is gold for your 40 mount. And gold for your 60 mount. Blacksmithing does the exact opposite of that.
I’d go mining and Engineer or Blacksmithing after you get your mount.
Before that I’d probably go Mining/Hers
