Imagine you, already hungry, pay to go to a buffet and the buffet offers food to literally everyone but you. That’s what this new patch was, constant complaints that we don’t have single target damage that is substantial compared to classes like Outlaw who have both single damage, and so much AOE.
Those of us who play Warrior only play well because we strive to the brink of ridicule to keep our class evident, good while giving 100% to do what classes only need to do 80%. And we do it, we do it because we love the class.
It’s time for the blizz to start throwing a bone to the Warriors DPS so that it’s no longer necessary to almost break my keyboard to keep the dps reasonable.

This is the most fun I’ve had in years. Will be a nightmare to balance these new talent trees though.

I can’t say for that time as I wasn’t playing the game, I can say that I felt that way in shadowlands season 1 and now in DF season 1, apparently the devs and balance team are prohibited from letting Warriors DPS even near of the top performers in the game.

That is not a excuse to leave that bad tho.

Blizzard has never been able to balance this game properly. I don’t expect that to change any time soon. I’m just saying that they nailed the gameplay this time for most of the specs I’ve played. The trees are full of fun choices. They feel good for the most part.

yeah but this always happens, after the mid point of the exp warriors pull ahead hard because we scale so hard with gear.
It does always happen. There is no excuse.

Sigh. Warriors dont scale with gear more or less than any other spec, stop believing this completely false idea. We have the illusion that we scale harder because for some reason blizzard always makes fury god awful undertuned at the beginning of every expansion, then gets like 4-7 tuning passes just to make it not completely suck.
I.e. shadowlands launch: between SL prepatch, and about 9.0.5, fury had multiple tuning changes that totalled about ~24% aura buff, and was still only about mid-ish on the charts.

There is no excuse for that to happens. For real, i see Outlaws, DH, Monks always top of the chart from start to end of a Expansion. And my Rant is why cant Warrior have that too? Why we need to do over the top performance(when i say this is keeping a perfect rotation with full uptime) just to have a little space. It is always a strugle.

Everyone scales with gear. Saying we scale better is a myth, and has been a myth for a long time.

This isn’t even remotely true. Rogue was almost completely absent in Shadowlands outside of Mythic+. DH and WW were also in a similar boat, but at least their saving grace was that they bought important raid debuffs and had good multi-target DPS that proped them up for people who don’t know how to read logs.
Arms and Fury are both solidly middle of the pack and have good options for AoE or Single Target. Warriors aren’t finding issues in raids and are largely kept around for solid raid utility in Rallying Cry and Battle Shout. As well as a very good damage profile for Cleave with Fury, and Single Target for Arms.
This new patch helps alleviate problems Arms suffers with multi-target by making Sweeping Strikes Baseline. Fury will probably be the same but it didn’t have too much of an issue with its damage profile (in how it specs and deals damage) and is just more or less of a small tuning issue.
As I said, both specs are middle of the pack where its exactly where a spec should be.
Left behind? Maybe I’m just the black sheep but I’m having fun with it right now and what we got was minimal but better than any nerf.
There’s always the argument, it’s not so bad this is middle of the pack(it is on top bottom). Since it’s not true you can ask anyone how many Rogue, DH, Warlocks, Hunters do you want in your party? It will always be as much as you can, and Warrior? Let’s bring 1 which is more than enough. Come talk about logs but the logs show that the Warriors lose more and more space every week.

It was not about if it is fun or not. I do have a blast playing with it. It is about how buffs to another classes and keeping Warrior in the void is creating a power difference that will make your lives harder to find a space in Raids and M+.

What? Fury’s ST is legit none existent… its in its own category for boss damage, with WW monk. And its AoE isn’t a whole lot better. It does very good burst AoE every 90 seconds… but its consistent AoE sucks.
Also, no idea where you get fury being middle of the pack. Its currently sitting 5th last in overall damage, and 2nd last in boss damage. Only reason it isnt dead last, is because a lot of the fights have adds that line up very well with fury’s burst CDs. Fury WAS middle of the pack at the start… but as everyone started getting their tier sets, fury has dropped 3-4 ranks every single week.

You mean Fury has been. But that’s largely because Arms once it has its 4Piece set is better on several fights. Arms is moving upwards in the rankings especially as guilds are actually killing bosses more consistently and Arms is allowed a solid execute phase. Warriors as a whole have been fine.
And with 13 classes and a raid limit size of 20, 1-2 DPS Warriors is fine. Any more than that and you’d have to be overtuned to get more spaces.
Perhaps I worded this wrong, but in the sense that you don’t have to make big talent adjustments to have a good mix of Single Target vs AoE/Cleave.
I see this,
As part of the problem no? Right now there is really only one Fury spec (other than a few utility things you might shift around on the warr tree like Intimidating shout or Storm bolt). If you aren’t playing Raging / Crushing blow with the Ravager + Hurricane you are pretty much doing it wrong in terms of damage. That is super unfun. Want to go dual 1H, nah that’s crap. Want to try obliterate, nah that’s crap. Want to do annihilator, its got great HP self sustain, but in terms of damage, nah thats crap.
So the result is, we never get to really change our spec around to tailor to certain fights and our single target rotationa and aoe rotation is identical save the one really crappy and dumb buff button (not even going to honor it by calling it an aoe damage ability) that we have to hit once every 5 attacks.
So we abandon all other talents, and min ma, just to be middle of the pack in everything (or absolute bottom in single target cases). In a multiplayer game where people make their own groups, to excel at nothing but to suck at nothing, might as well be to suck at everything since everyone wants to build the best groups. RBGs, nah no need a warr, M+ Nah no need a warr unless they are the tank, raid we can take 1 out of pity and a rally here or there. Arenas are the only place we currently are “Decent”. Arms making its comeback has us in the 6-7% participation range at top tiers. Lower than rogues and DH by far, but at least we aren’t left out.
