Ah the warrior, the thing people think of first when they want a meathead to smash things with a giant weapon, or be the meatwall being smashed by a giant boss. Seeing as they’re probably the class everyone played at least once, and a good portion of us started with it is safe to say some of their armor sets are quite ironic as well. Sure they may not have as flashy moves as some other classes, but when you’re only strength is literally your strength, that alone is flashy to fight along side people powered up through various means.
Disclaimer: Obviously stereotypes don’t apply to everyone, so don’t be offended if you don’t line up with the description of your currently transmogged tier set.
Also this will be exclusively raid tier sets, no dungeon or PvP. Tier sets that are for that entire armor type will also not be included, such as BFA.
Tier 1: Battlegear of Might
You’re wearing this because you’re an orc and saw how OP saurfang was back in classic and wanted to be him as well, I can’t blame you seeing how many alliance members he effortlessly cleaved.
Alternatively, you’re someone who doesn’t transmog their BoA’s while leveling and you just kind of got used to looking at it while leveling
Tier 2: Battlegear of Wrath
You recognize this as the superior armor set of the classic sets and insist its just as iconic as Might, but hey we all know its not.
They’re also usually a prot player, wearing this along side transmogging the sword off onyxia and shield off Chromaggus.
Tier 3: Dreadnaught
Here it is, the set we all wanted at some point until we saw something as basic as the belt can break the 6 digit number of the BMAH.
You wear this solely as a way to brag about how rich you are, not a single person wears this and says they earned it in classic.
Ironically you spent so much time playing the AH to earn the gold that you kind of stopped doing alot of pve content, so now you’re in that gear you wanted to show off so badly in the raid playing the AH instead cuz you got addicted.
Tier 4: Warbringer
Nobody uses this, and instead they use the pvp version cuz black is the cooler color.
Technically the same stereotype would apply to the people using the pvp version, but thats pvp armor and I’m gunna cheat and use that as an excuse to not write something.
Tier 5: Destroyer
This person only plays Arms, they think it makes them look cooler due to the mixture of intimidating/fancy their armor set has.
Overall its not used a whole bunch, but like the pervious set, the pvp version is used more
Tier 6: Onslaught
This person doesn’t know specs besides prot exists, and the only shield in their entire appearance collection is the Bulwark of Azzinoth.
To this day they still hate demon hunters for taking away their ability to transmog the warglaive with the set
Tier 7: Hero/Valorous Dreadnaught
This is the copium set, just accept this fact.
You’d much rather be wearing the tier 3 version, but you’ve accepted you’ll never earn enough gold in this life time to buy the entire set.
“Its actually much better than tier 3, its higher resolution and has more details” is your most commonly typed phrase
Tier 8: Valorous/Conqueror Seigebreaker
This is the person you’ll run into while in a pug, they’ll say nothing the entire dungeon but they will absolutely top the charts in every way possible (You didn’t even know Arms could do 11.3k HPS)
They will use the blue gemmed version if they’re alliance, and red gemmed version if they are horde though.
Tier 10: Ymirjar
They’ve made 17 separate threads saying how Vrykul should be a playable race, and I agree entirely with them.
They only ever use the grey and brown version, cuz they didn’t know the red version had boots added in legion
Tier 11: Earthen
Tauren are the only people you’ll ever see wearing this. They don’t like the set either and were in fact pretty angry when they first saw it, however they like the concept of just being a moving mountain so they sadly deal with it.
Tier 12: Molten Giant
They’ll never use the normal version, its always the bright red heroic recolor.
I understand the set came from a fiery raid and you look like molten rock, but calm down with the temper, cuz these players are just looking for a reason to fly off the handle (You’d put up with this more if they were like the tier 8 people, but theyre usually not doing great dps either)
Tier 13: Colossal Dragonplate
They know Deathwing was one of the coolest bad guys WoW ever had, and they entirely pretend dragon soul didn’t happen despite the fact they wear this entire set (including the 2h matching swords off Deathwing himself)
Dragon Soul is interestingly when they peaked in pvp as well, cuz “The trinkets weren’t that OP, and the swords were completely balanced with having a strong slow”
Tier 14: Resounding Rings
They’re a pandaren, that is the only time I’ve ever seen this set
I guess they really liked MoP?
Tier 15: Last Mogu
You remember tier 10? Yea this is that guys friend but replace Vrykul with Mogu
They’re usually a male Draenei as well due to the shared skeleton, he also prays in front of his Lei Shen posters every night before bed, wishing that Mogu will finally be playable so he can be the supreme race
Tier 16: Prehistoric Marauder
You don’t wear this set because you wanted Tusks of Mannoroth, and have done SoO more times than you can count.
Every time you see the name “Spaulders of the Fallen Warchief”, something in your brain tells you they’re tusks, but they are never tusks so you hate this set for tricking you so many times
Tier 17: Blachand
Nobody wears the normal/heroic version, its exclusively the Mythic version.
This is the coolest and edgiest set you’ve ever seen, and you’ve never taken it off since you first got it. I don’t blame you either cuz it is really nice looking, just don’t forget what character you are with the 5 other people wearing it in the raid
Tier 18: Iron Wrath
You always loved having a sword for a head with tier 2, so here is your newer and less purple version.
They never seem to wear the mythic version, probably because it makes the blades on the head/shoulders smaller, although everyone who wears the mythic version is the coolest person ever
Tier 19: Obsidian Aspect
This is the plate set for elves, especially night elves. Why? I have no idea to be honest
It’s a nice looking set, and as usual only the mythic version gets used, but everytime I see it the sets on any elf in the game and never on another race.
Tier 20: Titanic Onslaught
Do you like tier 6? Do you like more polygons than an n64 game? Well tada you got your wishes!
It goes well with that Blackrock Bulwark you got back in WoD as well, so now you look the exact same as you did back then, just more HD.
They only use the normal version, or the mythic version (not heroic cuz its too green, but the mythic version has enough green somehow)
Tier 21: Juggernaut
You’re someone who never liked the painted on armor styles, the skinny gloves, and the tiny boots, you always wanted something a bit more chunky
Sure the chest and legs are still paper, but look at the size of them gauntlets and stompers, you could backhand someones head off with those things.
The set seems to be only used by the chunky races as well, Im talking orcs/tauren/dwarves/even pandas
Tier 28?29? Sepulcher: Infinite Infantry
You were so excited to finally have class specific tier sets back, gone are the days of you sharing with those lame healers and vastly superior DKs
And then you saw the set, and you were immediately… let down, but you convinced yourself its not that bad and gradually worked on getting the entire appearance
Only to wear it for under a day and go back to the plate set from Castle Nathria cuz maybe sharing isn’t that bad
Conclusion,
Man there are more warrior sets that are just borderline unused than I remembered, wish is a shame cuz they honestly have some of the best sets in the game overall
Some of these stereotypes change depending on the weapons they got going on too, but I’m not gunna spend 300 hours talking about every weapon as well lol
This is the 2nd of these I’ve made, I might make another if I feel like it, and if you wanna read the first one cuz its your class, here ya go
