Yeah if an arms tank is able to include sweeping strikes and whirlwind as part of their tanking process it can be amazing. I was never particularly good at it myself, but I did have a chance to run with some Arms tanks that aoe tanked really well, no threat issues and great damage.
If you are running a shield at those low levels, you need to just pick maybe 2 mobs and tank those. Maybe mark casters with skulls and X’s and point the dps to kill those first since they dont even really need to be tanked (this will also give you more time to build aggro on the melee mobs before dps jumps on them). If you try and hold aggro on everything at those levels you will just end up giving yourself a headache and losing aggro on almost everything. Also make sure you are using sunder armor and revenge. Those are going to be your biggest threat skills.
As some said possibly two hand but the ppl keep making fury warriors to grab threat for alliance is wrong a good prot or Druid would do better.
See it with our prot ripping threat and has to stop attacking.
That’s them doing everything they can. Fury tanks are sub par to a Paladin (knows what they r doing) or Druid.
I can see horde using fury tanks but alliance not much. If they believe other wise they need to get back to the drawing board on Paladins.
I can give more tips but knowing a Paladin with 700 sp dmg can hit someone for 1k(2k if crit) for a regular attack which in a single attack not counting white dmg or any of their other attacks is insane that’s a regular attack which then heal them back for that. It’s 10% to 15% Chance on each swing but can increased for proc at 25% to 30%.
Knowing that a ret is very OP or Paladin in general.
Let say they get reckoning could one shot anyone. You will see it on a ret in T2 or T2.5 if they know what I am talking about. Naxx comes it will be worse.
Sunken Temple will be some really good practice for tanking. The dragonkin on the bottom level can be pretty tough and not many CC options available for them. This is where I really started marking kill orders and choosing what to tank. Made a huge difference on those pulls.
