Hey fellow tanks. While leveling wondering if any pops into battle equips a 2hnd overpowers then into d with there shield?
What spec are you?
I’m lvl 40 and tanking in battle stance with a 2-Hander as Arms. But my pocket priest healer is happy for me to do this. He lets me know if he’s struggling in which case I’ll go def stance with a sword and shield.
Even though I’m primarily in Battle Stance with a 2-H, I stance dance a fair bit.
Need to taunt? Stance Dance to Def, taunt, swap back. Short on Rage? Stance Dance to Zerker and pop Zerker Rage and change back to Battle. Oh crap I’m taking a LOT of dmg? Slap on my shield and go def stance! Maybe pop shield wall if needed (until this group is cleared, then change back to Battle and pull the next mob)
With 3-4 mobs I find it easy to maintain a nice mana regen for your casters. We barely ever actually stop moving forward. Pulling 5+ just means more and more drinking after each pull. it’s some people preference, but as a warrior I’d rather chain pull safely and constantly
I generally Charge -> Bloodrage -> Sweeping Strikes -> Sunder x2 -> Berserker stance -> Berserker Rage -> Whirlwind -> Battle stance, and then just tab Sunder/Cleave/Demo shout when needed. ALWAYS popping Overpower as soon as it’s available. I tend to just keep battle shout up but you can use this as a bit of extra group threat if you have melee with you. It’s pretty useless (as threat) if dps are all casters as they are usually out of range to receive the buff. Avoid being in Zerk stance too long because of the extra dmg you take.
You should have a sword and shield and a macro to swap these out
Its not really a rotation.
If you arent marking adds, you have to walk up to the targets to use taunt.
You should be making sure to get a shout off on everyone.
Use sunders whenever you can and revenge.
Be careful with charge cause you can pull a lot more than you really want with the aggro ranges.
I usually just creep into the closest ranged target cause generally 2 others are coming with the first aggrod targ.
