Warrior tank needed dps items

What are your thoughts on this. On a ZF run a warrior tank needed on a green dagger the final boss drops as he claimed it would help him hold aggro for tanking.

He told the hunter not to roll on the dagger (despite it being an upgrade) as hunters don’t need the weapon.

Then, 5 minutes later on the snake bosses he rolls need on a blue two handed staff as he claimed it will help him with dps.

I’m pretty chill when it comes to these things and said whatever, as items will eventually get replaced. But do you find it quite peculiar that this warrior tank needed on those 2 specific items literally one after another?

We call those people “loot hores” and they just want all the things that might potentially be some sort of upgrade for them. They aren’t wrong but it’s a very self-serving philosophy.

I try not to group with people like that often if I can help it, but you’ll run into them. Especially tanks because they are in such high demand.

I was running with a guildie on my alt and he kept needed on defias stuff for his alt rogue.

I told him if he wanted it he should have come on his rogue.

Always state loot rules at the beginning of the run…or anyone can roll need on anything they want…

Just an FYI as to what blizzards stance on this issue is…

So dude rolled on a green dagger and a staff with no caster stats that was designed for melee? Warrior is 100% in the clear not sure what the problem is. Melee DPS biggest upgrades are their weapons btw.

Oh bro don’t get me started. Fighting for every piece of loot is getting tiring a bit. Raged quitted my hunter til further notice cos got sick of competing with warriors, rogues, druids, pal lies and other hunters for loot. And my pieces seem to drop very far in between.

Is about tanks rolling on dos gear, which is fine. But in most cases they r bn greedy

Tanks are dps, they level as dps. They put a shield on in dungeons.

You aren’t gonna level up in the world with a shield on.

I’ll play a way I don’t prefer, to get loot that helps me play in a way I do prefer. This could be that scenario. Or he could be a scumbag, who knows.

Daggers are actually pretty good for tanking.

If he was arms, Staffs are actually some of the better weapons while leveling due to their slow speed and high DPS. Now, if the staff was needed by a caster, than he shouldn’t have rolled on it.

I used several daggers and staves throughout my leveling process.

Mainly talking about end game dungeon gear. They feel entitled to every piece.

The dagger is a bit suspect but that staff is actually a legit thing. I used it for about 5 levels myself till I made it through Mara for the resurgence rod, and even then I kinda wanted the thrash blade instead.

That staff hurts, it stuns, and is much better in the hands of a warrior than a mage.

Did anyone else need the staff or did you just want it for gold/DE?

If I’m a dps warrior, I’m tanking a dungeon because bringing a 2nd warrior lowers the loot I’m getting.

Tanks are not tanks in vanilla, and this is a reality you need to accept.

True, they r dps that do mediocre tanking for fast invites. And roll on both roles. Most of them.

Meh, don’t mind it at all. Warrior tanks are usually fury/arms anyways. It’s only fair they be allowed needing on dps items.

WHAT I DO MIND… however… is the Druid or shaman that will need on gear for all 3 specs throughout a dungeon. That’s just rough man

You realize all tanks are dps spec? Prot spec is worthless past 20 points in.

I mean, hes not wrong. Hes just greedy. It’s courtesy to others that if you win a roll, you dont roll against people until they’ve gotten something too. If nobody else wants it, then cool, take it.

Its not really even an unwritten rule. It’s just being nice to other people lol.

Meh. IMO I don’t think winning 2 items in a leveling dungeon that are very impactful on their leveling “greedy”. Specifically warriors who have it rougher than every other class.

Oh he definitely needed them, but not for DPS or threat.

He needed them to pay for training and his mount.
