Warrior Tank is...Great?

Just wanted to throw out props for the changes to Warrior tank. The spec feels great. Big armor, big shield, big AoE aggro and mobility.

The combination of combat charges from warbringer, AP increase from stacking defense and great AoE aggro with thunderclap/shockwave makes controlling mobs much better. Tanking dungeons went from an arthritic chore tab sundering to relatively smooth. Throw in 5 minute shield walls for the high leverage moments, massive party buffs with battle shout/commanding shout/valor of azeroth, and the toolkit feels great.

You feel powerful and useful out there. Whoever was in charge of Warrior tank design in P4; your the real MVP.

Yeah been enjoying what they’ve been doing with warrior tank throughtout sod although it hasnt been too great this phase its hit a really nice spike! Its highly disruptive in both pvp and pve with all its tools added up

One of the few classes/specs they’ve been doing right.

Yep. I think the jury is out on DPS warrior but a Tank warrior is chefs kiss.

Are you using glad stance or stance dancing? Been struggling on finding the sweet zone for Warr tanking.

Glad stance isnt for tanking my guy lol

Well there’s the answer to my question lol first time warrior player, I’ll just watch a YouTube video haha heard mixed things about it so was just looking for a lil clarification and advice

using glad stance while tanking is just dumb, its meant for the warrior to be able to do some dps while they arent actively tanking a boss

You can get away with Glad Tanking in Dungeons once you’re more confident and have a trusted healer with you.

That being said back to the main topic. I am absolutely having a ball with my Deep Prot SnB tanking. Thanks Blizzard.

I play Hunter but my main dungeon tank is prot. He’s the only tank I’ve played with that I don’t have to worry about pulling threat. Rarely dies, is fast between packs and does decent damage.

Every other tank I’ve played with doesn’t feel as good. Hunter has a lot of front-loaded burst and now that we can’t launch slowing trap, I have to watch my aggro & feign death every pull.

If you want to know about warrior on a deeper level, go lurk in the Fight Club discord.

Don’t say a damn word though. It’s the most toxic group of players in all of WoW. Just use the search function (don’t mix up phase 3 and prior with phase 4 results) at near addictive levels and you’ll learn a lot.

For standard Dungeon tanking Defensive stance with warbringer is all you need. Deep prot as your 2nd talent spec works just fine. Get Spirit of Alpha if you got a shaman, as well.

My basic rotation is Charge, Shield Slam for buff, Tclap, walk backwards a couple steps so mobs run to / line up in front of you, shockwave. GG nothing is coming off of you and DPS can do their thing. Tclap and Shockwave on cooldown from there. Sunder and shield slam as filler. Start planning out your next pull to keep things moving.

Beyond that keep shield block up and check for anything not hitting you. If you see your team butt pull another pack combat charge into the heart of it and tclap to snap adds to you. Challenging shout/Shield Wall if its a lot of adds that pulled. You can win some massive fights if your controlling the mobs and the healer can focus pumping only you.

Best tank and it’s not even close.

As it should be.

One tank to rule them all.

They did good, but I feel like some of the changes came at the expense of glad stance now. If they’re gonna keep reducing the threat multiplier as glad stance to stop tanks from using it the least they could do is give me some of my armor back for solo gameplay.
