Anyone know the difference between fury and Arms. Both are dps but who’s one is better (as in does more damage). What exclusive abilities does arms have. I’m already familiar with fury
Heavy hitting skills with longer cooldowns, good for pvp. Or use to be. Since you could smash all you skills at once and wait 30 seconds for another huge burst.
Less survivability and little hp regen.
The one you can play best is the best.
You could play the most OP spec in the world but if you can’t wrap your head around it, you’ll be trash.
Those two specs bounce back and forth as to which is best and for what, play what you like.
Fury is a straight up build/spend class. You build rage until you can rampage and then spend rage on rampage granting you enrage. Every ability generates rage and the only spender is rampage.
Arms is completly spend rage. Generally you have a prio to spend it on, with every point of rage spent has a chance to proc tactician granting overpower (free).
Both have their strengths and weaknesses. Fury never ever has a point in its rotation you cannot press something and that increases with haste, sub 1sec gcds are a thing meaning frantic button mashing.
Arms has rage management and sometimes you have to wait for an auto attack to grant ebough rage to be able to use something, wind fury totem is super powerful with them because it allows a chance to proc double rage - charge weaving is also a thing that you must do if you wish to perfect its rotation.
As to what one is better depends on the content you are doing and the class comp you run with. Both are capable of clearing mythic raids and keys into the 27+ range.
I prefer nf arms for raiding because it smoothes out rage gen and feels more controlled. Kyrian fury with signet is just aoe king but you run rng on bladestorm procs.
You will find that Arms and Fury trade who is “best” over the course of every raid tier, every tier, every expansion.
You REALLY should play the one you like best. I mean… unless you are in a RWF-type guild. Not just Mythic progression, but like … top 50 in the world kind of guild.
If you’re in THAT league… then yes, there will be some IMPORTANT difference between Arms and Fury.
For all but those 44 people, it doesn’t REALLY matter. Play the one you like-- because they do play VERY differently. I truly HATE Fury! And you will find people who truly HATE Arms. You have to find what you like and play that.
Good luck!
Everything is pretty accurate, but here is how to decide: Play what you like. By the time it will make a significant enough difference for you, you should know enough to pick for yourself.
Arms is slower paced, with more control over when its damage spikes. It also favors damage reductions instead of healing. Which is generally why it’s a PVP favorite, durable and has a healing reduction built into a main attack.
Fury is fast paced, with a simple rotation that keeps pumping damage with minimal spikes. It’s a little bit squishier but has a lot of self healing. Generally a good choice for people of all skill levels because there’s very little to mess up, but still fun for veterans because it’s so fast.
Edit: Right now they’re both pretty much on par in performance for M+. I imagine the same is pretty much true for the raid/pvp. Fury might still have a tiny lead after the most recent arms buff. But not enough to sway you one way or another unless your playing at the top .1%
Arms attacks with 2 hands using 1 weapon. Fury attacks with 2 weapons using 2 hands.
Arms, in theory hits harder but are less sturdy. Fury is more like a constant feel-good DPS. Arms is a more strategic and methodical way about it.
I can see the appeal to both. But I definitely prefer arms.
But there have been times where my DPS spec has remained Fury only because doing solo content was really tricky with arms in the past. I think it’s better now though.
Arms is meant to be big hits, and Fury is more frequent smaller hits.
Depends on what you’re doing. Really, I’d recommend just playing Arms because it’ll result in you not burning out your hands like with Fury and its button mashimg.
