Warrior Rage

I am a level 20 prot warrior and i literally can’t cast any skills in Deadmines because I have no rage. Can we please give prot warriors more rage generation so we can actually cast some skills to get some threat??? Thank you blizzard.

More rage blizzard please.

Have you played classic before?

Blizzard changed rage generation to be much lower than it was in classic.

Try a 1.5 weapon speed dagger. Let me know how it feels.

They’ve implemented a worse version of retail rage normalization so this statement is actually a contradiction. Classic rage gen was 1000x better than current formula.

I have played roughly 5-10 warriors on Hardcore and have a level 60. I have not noticed a huge difference in rage generation up to level 20 in Forever

that’s because it’s up to leval 20. This same calculation will be used at level 60 as well. That’s the bad part.

This has zero effect on the rage generated per second. This is testable in the beta and has been tested and even confirmed by blizzard.

Rage from melee swings has been normalized to your weapon speed not the actual damage done.

Incoming damage give rage in terms of percentage of your health take rewards the same percentage of 25 Rage.

Also it may be bugged in that crits aren’t giving extra rage

Just telling you my personal experience from playing the last hour. 2.7 speed hammer felt bad and 1.5 speed dagger felt good. Say what you want if you don’t want to try it out.

I’m telling you that “feeling” is nothing when it comes to actual facts. Like I’ve said before this is already confirmed by blizzard.

Not a bug sadly

I understand that they normalized rage generation but a level 20 Warrior was rage starved in Classic. It’s no different. Wait till 40 to start giving feedback.

Is just going off what things are said all you have versus actually doing and trying? You do you boo and I’ll keep doing me. Have fun “playing” that way.

even if you’re right about the rage the dagger’s damage is normalized at a much lower rate so your whirlwinds will be awful.

Edit:

I maybe should have been clearer her this thread is about rage normalization. But when I referred to dagger normalization I meant attack power to weapon speed normalization.

It’s hard to put it briefly I’ll try but you might need to bear with me.

Weapons have a built-in damage range, but the actual damage they do is modified by attack power.

If you had a 2.0 speed sword that did 20-21 damage and 140 attack power. Every 14 attack power adds 1 DPS . With 140 AP that adds 10 dps and since the swing timer is 2.0 that adds 10*2=20 to the swords base 20-21 damage so your swings would hit for 40-41 damage (before damage reduction effects like armor) and auto attacks were calculated like that for most iterations of vanilla / classic. The problem is it didn’t take people long in of vanilla to figure out that when you calculate weapon damage like that all of your abilities that are based on “weapon damage” ( for a warrior that’s slam, mortal strike, whirlwind, overpower) a slower weapon is preferred because the slower the swing speed the more you were multiplying attack power for those abilities.

So early on weapon damage based abilities got normalized to calculate the attack power contribution based on 1.7 speed for daggers, 2.4 speed for all other 1h weapons and 3.2 for 2h weapons. The point I was making is that daggers scale the worst for those kind of abilities.

For the record ”on next melee " attacks like heroic strike and cleave are exempt from weapon/AP normalization.

Sorry that was long winded it could’ve been a post by itself but I wanted to differentiate rage normalization from weapon speed normalization.

Adding SOD’s frenzied assault (40% increased attack speed, +2 rage on non crits and +4 on crits) early in the arms tree, adding back rage gen on damage taken for Prot tanking/PVP and a flat +15% rage gen to flurry for fury would fix all the issues on both sides of rage gen from current standing.

Still flat and more normalized for the most part but with extra utility for Arms/Fury hybrids and better 2H levelling early on with the added bonus of a viable arms PVE spec.

Aggrend the little pathetic man is still seething over being told to don the dress in 2019, so he has made it his mission in life to make ret the new fury and warrior the new ret.

Really sad and reallyyyyy unprofessional.

Re-read what normalized rage means lil bro.

I don’t believe that to be the case

You have no buttons to press. Just wait until BT/Whirlwind and you have to choose which one you use every 8 seconds, not both

its the same for 2h dps, the class is just rage starved
