Warrior race?

Im leaning towards gnome for escape artist and the engineering skill.
But from experience sword and maces helps a lot being human.
Also love undead for canibalize and waterbreathing.
What do you prefer for your warrior?

Gnomes with cute bubblegum pink, pigtails are best-in-slot.

the human +5 sword and mace is, without a doubt, the best racial. hands down. no question. the help it gives in landing hits on mobs is unmatched by anything else. combined with the +rep racial, fuhget about it. no other race can compete.

that said, whether or not you want to roll the best race, is up to you :expressionless: I’m currently a night elf warrior just because I like them more. being able to eat + shadowmeld is nice too.

It’s amazing to watch a bean manhandle an orange, go Gnome or go home.

Yup. But at the same time being another race than human does not limit you to only swords and maces. If you find an axe upgrade you wont feel bad using it.
Of course there are plenty of good maces and swords and in the end it’s a win being human. You are just limited to those only weapons

Night Elf so you can shadowmeld while eating between every pull.

For end-game, yes, but it’s relatively negligible for levelling, especially if you’re targetting green mobs.

If anything I’d argue Human Spirit is best human racial for Warrior levelling since Warriors benefit more from passive HP regeneration than any other class.

I’d recommend style > substance and choose a race you like the look of. I prefer female UD for my warriors for the best of both worlds.

Totally! 100% agree

Humans and orcs are by far the best for PVE because weapon skill is the strongest stat for warriors and there’s not many ways to get it.

Gnomes are better for pvp, but this is a hc pve server. Orcs are the strongest for pvp on horde because stun resist is incredibly OP.

But isnt hc more about survivability than damage dealing?
Wouldnt dwarf stone form or gnome escape artist, or troll regen help more on that matter?

absolutely wrong :expressionless:

Stoneform, if the class can be dwarf. You’ll be able to escape a LOT of lingering dots, and cure bleeds.

Orc for everything
Don’t play with your food

Weapon skill is primarily for reducing the likelihood of getting Glancing Blows. This is only a major consideration if you are fighting mobs at or above your current level, which you are unlikely to be doing when levelling as a Warrior (because you should be fighting mobs below your current level).

Happy to hear an alternative point of view.

Edit: While levelling, the extra 5 points in weapon skill will increase your chance to hit by 0.5% with that weapon. I’d argue that is still relatively negligible but others may disagree.

Generally you’re dying on a warrior because you have a bad string of parries/misses/etc. Weapon skill reduces the likelihood of that. And at 60 its just dramatically better for anything with higher level (many mobs in level 60 dungeons and all raids)

I’m giving Tauren a go to see how the extra hps plays out instead of my usual Orc Warrior.
