Warrior or Shaman? Which is more Iconic for Orc?

Between Warrior or Shamans, which class is most iconic for Orcs? Or would you say they are about equal?

Probably about equal. There is an argument to make for Shaman though.

Honestly pretty equal tbh

Shaman. Warrior and hunter are probably on equal footing. But shaman were sought after by some clan chieftains. And warrior is a bit too generic. Shaman definitely had the heart of a warrior. But warriors did not have the insight or elemental attunement of shaman - or even just the sagely advice.

It took a shaman to reforge the horde and orc clans.

Well to be fair, all Orcs are warriors. Even if they aren’t the plated, two-handed wielding variety.

Yeah. Agreed. Warrior ethos permeates their culture.

I’d put them as equal. The most iconic shaman in the franchise is an Orc. And, arguably, the most iconic Warrior is an Orc.

For my take, the iconic classes for orc (based on their weight on the Warcraft canon). Orc Shaman>Orc Warlock>Orc Warrior=Orc Hunter>Orc Rogue=Orc Death Knight

There’s on lot really one prominent orc shaman (Thrall). And one warlock (Gul’dan). But lots of warriors: Orgrim, Varok, Draenosh (when alive), Nazgrim (when alive) Eitrigg, Grommash / Garrosh

Warrior. Broxigar alone seals the deal but there are several others.

I…I’m sorry. BUT! You were a shaman in your previous life, right? Right??

I had to do some thinking and I guess that does make a bit more sense

The original DKs were orcs, but they were using human bodies, so I guess that doesn’t really make it super iconic then

Orc Warlocks whose souls were transplanted into the corpses of Human Knights.

If you’re a hippee horde and support Thrall’s version of the faction then shaman is more iconic. If you’re an alpha, might makes right horde, and support Garrosh’s version of the faction, then warrior is more iconic.

Orc warrior are all failers, Guldan one shot Hellscream in WoD, garrosh got over dethroned, saurfang get one shoted by slyvanas in BFA. The list goes on…

I think orc rogues are more the brass knuckle-wearing, smash a pool cue over your head and mug you in a dark alley before going back to drinking swill type of “warrior”.

They all had to cheat to take down the orc warriors so I wouldn’t call them failures.

Peon? :mag::robot:

Warrior and Shaman are the two sides of the orc coin.

I’d give the edge to shaman, if only because returning to their shamanistic tradition was a big part of Warcraft III.

Warrior. Every clan has them. Not every clan practices shamanism.
