Hey, I’m torn between warrior and rogue for a DPS character and between human and orc which one would look better in each of the tier gear?
i’d go human rogue just because of my perfectionism. ( I started in TBC not this weird vanilla thing where warriors wear leather)
You’ll be top single target DPS, on an actual dps class, no one will ask you to tank, ever. And you can always wear leather, no downgrading to other crap because the guides say its optimal or something. AND with human, you’ll get expertise with swords, which you use anyway. It just all makes more sense than rolling vanilla warrior to me, everything about the class and it’s role actually seems logical from a gear standpoint to what you actually end up doing with the character.
If you are talking short term and only classic wow, then you should pick warrior.
Orc and Human are close, ask one they will argue about who’s better for hours, and really I don’t know how big a difference it makes because I dont play one enough to know the nuance of their pve game, only pvp on the class and that’s different.
Warriors are strong just because rage is a way stronger resource mechanic. Warrior scales crazy well with gear and world buffs, way better than any other class in pve, if you want the big numbers.
If you are going long term, and I am talking TBC and Wrath then you may consider Shaman or Paladin, you are 100% going to be used in TBC and Wrath, they are both top tier classes that get brought, but as for their peak DPS figures, meh… dont worry much about that post 2.0 because that depends on what patch and gear you got present.
Rogue goes from second best DPS in classic to middle of the road in TBC, so consider that. We are very good in solo PVP like world pvp, and if set up right and on a very good team can be also great in organized pvp, but it really requires a high quality team that knows how to peel, and cross heal and all that to make the rogue any good for team play excluding ninja capping nodes in AB, and that’s rather tough to do just because the meta for AB is so dumb in organized play, its why RBG has always been garbage and arena is way better.
As for Warrior and Rogue PVP in TBC arena, both are very good, top tier easily you can get gladiator on both without any trouble but this assumes you are geared properly, setup properly and playing with the correct team comp for that to work.
Warrior and Rogue DPS in TBC is again nothing to write home about, but if you establish your self now in classic your guild will not toss you out in favor of a better class just because they know you and want you to raid because Good players on a mid pack class are better than unknown players on a top tier class.
Sorry for the really long, post I just wanted you to have accurate expectations.
Rogue for T2, Warrior for everything else, imo.
Orcs are better if you want swords. Human warriors are eager to go swords to use their +5 skill bonus while orc warriors want axes. IE less competition for swords on horde side.
The best racials for pvp rogue&warrior are orc.
Also orc rogues have to deal with perception (basically caught if humans know ur around) and human rogues have to deal with hardness (25% stun res).
Rogue will out damage a warrior UNLESS you’re in a guild that pushes buffs and actually knows how to prio gear then the warrior stretches the gap especially AQ40+. Rogue will have more world utility like pvp and gold farming and raid spots as a rogue are more competitive but you will be more satisfied because there is much more gear a rogue can get than a dps warrior. A dps warrior may go months without seeing an upgrade
See, that is why I went Warrior.
I’m full dps spec, but if I want too, I have the option to tank.
Warriors have full options of DPS gear as well.
Plate, mail, or leather. Whatever is best, you can wear it. Same with Weapons.
And that’s why I don’t like classes like warrior, shaman, etc in vanilla, I want to wear full plate/mail. It seems tacky as heck for my BIS gear to be leather.
No matter what anyone says, human is the best, there are so many cool swords and maces in the game but very few axes.
I play combat daggers so matters not to me. But there are some really sick sword for sure.
