So I’m debating between a warrior and a druid. I played druid back in Vanilla as a healer obviously. As far as leveling goes I’m looking to play a DPS and open to tanking as well to form groups. At end game I’d prefer to DPS or maybe tank if there’s a spot. I’m also open to healing again.
Sorry, I know these classes are very different (yet, still somewhat the same in that they’re both capable of filling different raid roles as a hybrid). I probably won’t have the time to commit to being a main tank but I like the flexibility of being able to form groups to tank.
Looking for any suggestions.
Thanks!

How far in tanking would you like to go? Dpsing as a warrior in dungi’s is almost a no go, unless you’re in good with that tank mostly.
If you don’t plan to hardcore raid can most likely dps / tank everything. You can still raid of course, people will bring a hybrid cat / bear if you can pop enough dps,
Cat gearing is sorta odd, assuming you mean feral dps and not balance, since gearing may seem 1-100, as in you get pre-raid BIS and you’re stuck with it for quite a while but you’ll do more then enough dps and have AMAZING pvp power compared to most.
Suck it up. Heal in raids and gather the leather feral gear along the way. By BWL you’ll have enough gear to dps and possibly offtank. Some of the pvp gear is quite good (even blues) as they’ll be in 1.12 itemisation. Druids are underrated in vanilla pvp.
If you want the safe route, take a warrior and just dps as fury.
Edit: I mained one in vanilla back in the day. Healed up to a few bosses into Naxx. 1/29/21 was my fav spec.
What does that build look like? I’m assuming that’s 1 point in Balance for Nature’s Grasp.
My druid only made it to 40, the fact that I was on a private server that could just disappear at any moment was demoralizing. Can’t wait for the official servers. This was my build and gear:

You basically answered your own question. If you want to do healing warrior isn’t a option. Tank and dps you haven’t wasted your time choosing warrior way better tank and dps.
Definitely go druid, be part of the new meta for this game, and capitalize on your vanilla knowledge. Also, many endgame raiding guilds (mine included) will take a feral (tank and dps hybrid) for crit buff, brez, etc. Feral druid is really good.

The talent build varies depending your main roll. I kept mine for pvp utility and pve healing was good enough. We had another couple of resto druids with imp rejuv, so I didn’t need to spec it.
You become an absolute beast in BGs. Think Prot warrior with pocket healer = 1 Druid. Damage isn’t super high but you send mages OOM and hold flags like no other. Bear form is your go-to in most scenarios. Pop out to heal and back in for another 20-30 seconds. Your mana regen while in forms (from spirit, not MP5). You can’t be mana burned or mana drained either while I’m cat/bear.
And you’re the best flag carrier by far in WSG. Just don’t go full cat spec… youll get destroyed. You are NOT a Rogue.
Listen, Feral Dps/tank is perfectly viable in Raids and most ally guilds take at least one. Just be flexible and be willing to do whatever needs done depending on the encounter. DPS wise you won’t top meters but you be somewhere in the middle if you learn to powershift.
if you want some good info check out “A Grizzly Situation” - it gets most things right and is a good starter to understand the gear needs and rotations.
After that it is up to you to find a good guild that has an open spot.
Go druid and give my priest innervate.
Honestly the coolest spell.
Wonder how much money a mage could make with a bunch of druid keeping his mana up to summon level 55 water.
Not sure I really understand your last sentence. I’m not specifically looking to heal…but I wouldn’t be completely opposed to it.
I think he is basically just saying if you want to tank/DPS more than you want to have the option to heal, you can’t go wrong picking Warrior.
Warrior with level appropriate gear is top-tier PvE (Prot/Fury) and PvP (Arms).
Most raids will only take 1 Feral Combat Druid and 2 Restoration Druids. I have been advocating slotting in a Balance Druid to heavy spell damage parties, but it’s not common.
So that makes 3 slots for Druid in raid, where just the Protection Warriors take up as many with probably as many or more Fury. Need to gear 4 extra tanks for The Four Horsemen in Naxxramas, and no guild is going to want to gear more than 1 Feral.
Warrior all the way. I mained druid in vanilla as well. You will have opportunities to tank but you know as well as I do you will be pressured to heal 90% of the time. If you are not specifically looking to heal, take it out as an option.
That’s my opinion.
Also you should try something different. Warriors are really the only true hybrid in vanilla where your tank and dps is top shelf.
Willing to tank is huge bonus especially in dungeons. Get a good pre-raid tank set and tell people you are willing to off-tank in raids.
It will be tough competition in some respects but you won’t be pigeon-holed into healing because you can’t lol. So if you prefer to dps or tank, warrior is your choice.

If you aren’t at all interested in healing anything, go warrior, the toolkit is entirely dedicated to the other two roles (tanking/dps). You’ll find groups very easily for dungeons and can probably reserve anything you want.
Otherwise druid of course.

I like it! Doing something different is really enticing. Also, you’re spot on about the pressure to go resto.
