My Level 14 Orc Warrior is constantly missing swings and repeatedly getting parried or dodged on a frequent basis. If I attack someone at around my level my swings will miss about 50 % of the time. Any advice ?
Yes,
Enjoy
Perfectly normal when you attack enemies who are a level above or at your same level when you have no +% hit items or +weapon skill items.
Solution: Attack targets who are a level or two lower. This will result in less failed attacks, and you living longer and leveling faster.
Welcome to leveling as a warrior
Get used to it.
fight lower level mobs
Oh you sweet, summer child…
My non-troll advice is to group up with a healer. Warrior+heals is an unstoppable juggernaut. You will still miss… but at least you won’t die due to it.
Welcome to Classic.
Paladin works quite well with Warrior, as the buffs are very useful, it has fast heals, and potent CC and utility. Priests do as well, as they do a lot of damage too.
levelling a warrior can be one of the best experiences.
stick to mobs 1-2 levels below you, same level is fine tho.
The BIGGEST thing about levelling a warrior is using the correct abilities.
No MATTER what anyone ever tells you.
WHILE LEVELLING, heroic strike is going to be terrible 99.9% of the time.
REND Is also useless 99.9% of the time. it is basically only useful until you get Sunder Armor.
Your basic rotation pre overpower is
Sunder until 60-50%, then just hamstring your excess rage.
You will pretty much do this fishing for over powers the entire time until you get sweeping strikes and then eventually whirlwind then mortal strike.
but anyway…just don’t waste rage on heroic strike or rend while levelling.
levelling a warrior the wrong way is the biggest reason why people say it is hard.
I Have levelled a warrior twice, the correct way. and both times it was easy and fun.
I don’t think an orc’s going to be grouping up with a paladin, somehow.
Yep.
Level as Arms, get improved overpowered asap. Life is hard until 40 in any spec.
Follow this advice OP. Warrior can be a blast to level. The sunder to 5, use hamstring to have them dodge into overpower is very underated. Only be using your heroic strike when you have a lot of rage.
Ya, stick to mobs lower or 1-2 same level. Learn to pull around camps, and have fun my dude. 2-hand misses less than 1-hand btw.
As an Orc make sure you wear axes as much as possible, that +5 weapon skill to axes helps a lot against those parry/dodge/miss.
Other than that make sure your weapon skill are maxed for your level (5 weapon points per level so you should have 70 points (+5 if using axes) into the weapon skill you’re using right now.
Green quests if you’re alone. Same as rogues solo, if you’re by yourself always stay a few levels above the mobs you are dealing with if you can. Why? Because the XP is the same and the speed of levelling recovery is shorter.
Warriors also need to know how to kite while jumping backwards so you don’t stand toe to toe with the mob. Swing timer helps with this.
thanks for the advice, i actually just levelled up my 2 h sword by swinging at the skeletons you can attack occasionally in the UC. lol
But ya, i had a healer buddy for a bit, then he/she just stopped talking to me, after I paid for them to get boosted and whatnot. I went back to my priest for now.
Slam is superior to HS spam for leveling
i feel like warrior dont suffer enough and i wish it was 1000 time hard so i can objectively look at warrior and give millimeter of respect
You can’t attack yellow or red mobs as a solo Warrior without issues. Paladins can do this with ease, but not a Warrior until much later in the game.
Just get a fiery enchant an spam rend since it is a low rage ability and can proc fiery weapon
