Arms Warriors are mostly auto-attacking until level 36, and they have difficulty handling mobs 1-2 levels higher. They also have difficulty handling 2 or more mobs (again, until 36 with Sweeping Strikes and Whirlwind). Once you get MS at 40, things improve tremendously. It does become fun, but you have to slog through the first 30+ levels.
They are challenging. If that’s count as fun - then try one
Depends on what you consider fun. Do you enjoy waiting for auto attack white swings, with no buttons to press for 36 levels? Then you’ll have a blast. Do you enjoy having to eat food after fighting a single mob whos yellow to you (within 2 levels)? Boy you’re in for a treat.
Jokes aside. Warrior leveling is tedious, but it’s not necessarily too bad if you break up the solo questing with some dungeons when you have the quests available for them. Group play is where Warriors shine, and you’ll notice this the most going from questing to Dungeoning, and likewise from solo PvP to group PvP.
As an aside, if you’re primarily interested in end-game PvE content, Human is a great choice. If you’re a PvP minded player, and want all the edges you can get, you should strongly reconsider rolling as Gnome or Dwarf.
I am personally having fun on my war, just hit lvl 43. Went fury and now putting talents into prot so tanking is easier. Its slow leveling compared to everyone else. My best friend who started after me is already level 50 on his hunter. You really gotta be 2-3 levels above the next leveling zone to even move to the next zone. The WW axe at lvl 30 really makes a huge difference.
Slow. Very slow
Leveling a warrior is like banging your head on a wall over, and over, and over and over and over again. But when you ding 60, it changes to you ripping apart everything in the game.
Tanking for the current meta will drive you nuts if you have any tanking experience at all.
Warrior is one of the slowest if not the slowest to level up early on. Gets better once you get Mortal Strike (MS) along with Sweeping Strikes and Whirlwind. Like it was said above in a group they do well solo grinding quests I found it best to do my level or a level or 2 lower if solo if you can group up with anyone else then you can try higher level stuff. Not that you cant do higher level quests just its not time efficient.
Is it true there MortalStrike ability is one of the hardest hitting abilities in the game?
Yeah, it’s an absolute monster. At 60 with a decent weapon, 1.4k+ crits plus a brutal healing debuff.
Please tank if you do. This community needs a lot more players willing to tank.
If you find a Warrior slow to level, you didn’t pass the skills check.
If you can’t take two mobs your level or one higher, you didn’t pass the gear check.
Put simply, Warriors aren’t hard to level if you’re actually serious about one and learn how they work. Primarily in the understanding that they are incredibly gear dependent(and you may need multiple sets depending on what you want to do), and that will determine your effective ability to use one.
As an example, if you’re an Arms Warrior, I would highly suggest stripping down stamina for STR/AGI when grinding.
But if you’re going traditional instance, you’ll then need to swap to STR/STA gear and possibly throw up a board if the situation requires it.
If you’re going AE instance, go back to your STR/AGI gear.
Fun stuff like that. Prot is actually the simpler of the two if you do them both right because by and large you only really need one set of gear and you won’t have to sweat getting rung by instances and be highly dependent upon a proficient healer.
Just hearing that makes me want to roll one lol
Its slow. You are very gear dependent, you have no cc or self healing. You will wait 0 to 1 minute to find dungeon groups as long as you will tank. Tanking PuG groups is… well i hope you have patience. You cant fight anything 3 to 4 levels above you, and you struggle with 2 mobs your level.
This is my main. I have over 6 days play time. Its a challenge for sure, but its slightly more satisying. Everytime i die to another player (im on a pvp server) i just write down the name under my “KOS list once im 60”.
Hope this helps
Meh, I did a dungeon grind from 15-32 so far it’s been pretty easy. Only done a handful of quests here and there, mostly class quests.
Never want for a dungeon team, that’s for sure.
I could kill level 35 mobs at level 31 solo. Wasn’t that hard, but then it wasn’t that fast either. Just throw on the board and shield block/revenge them into dust. Usually I only did that to finish off a quest mob or three for the win.
Yes and no. The skill itself only adds a very modest damage bonus to what would otherwise be a normal white swing.
The key thing there is that like white swings, Mortal Strike scales with weapon damage, and since weapon damage scales tremendously well with late game gear, you end up doing obscene damage with it end-game, since it’s an Instant Attack independent of your swing timer.
This is on top of the 50% healing taken debuff it applies, making it particularly lethal in PvP.
I’m having fun leveling mine. 90% of the time I’m tanking dungeons. I’ve made a lot new friends simply from chain running dungeons with pugs.
I’ll look up the quests for a dungeon, get them started and do the pre required parts, then run it 5 to 6 times till I’m ready for the next.
Good way to meet the neighbors, so to speak. Have some good chats.
Warrior leveling is horrible unless you plan to spam dungeons and be the tank all the time … other than that getting ganked in the world comes at you all the time because you have to be very geared to kill anyone … if youbpull more than 1-2 mobs prepare to be in for a fight … no one ever wants us as DPS evem tho we are among the best at it once we get some gear… and also be prepared to get killed by mages and priests that are 10 levels lower than you lol
