I saw these on twitter the other day and thought it brought up a lot of good points. I mean, I think warrior is pretty awful and unexciting. It’s why I’m playing my DK.
The first guy just shouldn’t be playing warrior, it’s clearly not for him. It’s better for everyone that he moves along. Pretty poor post overall. The second guy has some decent points. Overall Fury is an extraordinarily fun and exciting spec that they continue to do a great job on, but there are certainly some things they could have done better with it in Shadowlands.
Anyway, glad you’re playing DK, hope you enjoy it. Take care.
That’s in the second post as well. The first poster’s distaste for the class taints any observations he has. Even where his feedback intersects with the second’s, it’s worthless. You read it and it’s just like, “Whatever man, you’re just unhappy playing a spec you don’t enjoy.”
As for the legendaries themselves, my enjoyment of the spec doesn’t hinge on the legendaries. Reckless Defense actually does look exciting to me, but current tuning suggests it won’t be viable, at least while we can only use one. Deathmaker is less exciting, but I remember the original tier bonus it was based on and I enjoyed it quite a bit. It’ll be plenty fun to me. And if these legendaries were overly powerful or dramatic, we’d be hearing from the ‘Agh! Borrowed power bad!’ crowd anyway.
I suppose we just have different viewpoints. I don’t see how a random damage buff that if you never knew it was there wouldn’t change anything at all in what you do is very exciting.
The dude might be salty but I felt like a lot of the critique was valid, and I found warrior to be quite disappointing myself. And like, the multi-week legendary grind stuff. I might not have liked borrowed power much either, but if the alternative is just grinding out passive effects that hardly matter? It feels like a choice of two evils and for me at least since we can target legendaries this time around would be for that legendary to be exciting.
I mean my mage and death knight have some pretty cool legendaries that I’m excited to grind out, and I just don’t feel that on warrior.
Indeed. Every class isn’t for everyone. Fury warrior literally feels like a team of people sat down and said, “How can we make Aedan happy?” Death Knight feels like it was made by an alien and mage seems like they are purpose built for people with punchable faces. They’re not for me, but they make other people happy so sweet.
This is a staple of wow. I didn’t say it was sweeping off my feet but if you can’t get excited about random bursts of extra damage this game is going to leave you sorely disappointed.
It was the ancient history of warrior. Much like the Bronze Age, its time is long past. It’s been over ten years since the Cataclysm prepatch.
They are not. I mean…I literally don’t even have go back any further than freakin’ BFA.
Not because of anything you said. And your comments don’t address the OP’s concerns at all. He isn’t talking about power. He’s talking about design. He doesn’t enjoy the class - more damage isn’t going to fix that.
Is it a full moon or something? Why is there a sudden surge in the uninformed ‘warriors scale different because someone told me that once’ crowd?
Well…yeah…that’s the point. You can say it either way you want. We are just as gear dependent as other classes. If you use the term ‘gear dependent’ to simply mean ‘gets better with gear’ then sure, everyone is. Everyone gets better with gear. We’re not special or unique in that regard, so arguably it’s a useless term at that point.
Many are using the term to mean ‘receives more benefit from gear than other classes’ which implies a lower baseline power level to compensate, and that’s just not correct in any way.
My warrior is sitting at 178ilv, and can constantly pump out 3.3k in mythic dungeons. Sure, some classes would do a bit better but not by a lot.
I have tested arms warrior in the beta. The problem about arms(or warrior in general) is the poor legendaries compared to other classes. If you choose to use condemn then one of your legendary is staright up useless. Some of the conduets are pretty viable though.
Also, when they enable mythic+, where you can’t just wipe a pack with your bursts+BS, arms warriors would suffer even more. Plus next week( or the week after) other classes are getting op legendaries, making arms even more useless.
As for fury. Sure, the rotation is fun, as for you have something to press for every GCD. But the damage is just not there for now.
The sum of all parts is what ultimately matters right?
Having supposed ‘weaker’ legendries isn’t a problem if Warrior soul binds are strong or visa versa. Borrowed power, is borrowed power regardless of where it comes from. The meters decide if the package is up to scratch.
The problem is they are not strong enough, nor do they have any interaction among each others.
Some of the legendaries straight up give you zero damage upgrade ( like harrowing punishment) while other gives less than five percent. This is not weaker, this is like you don’t even have a legendary.
The soul binds and conduits are mediocre at best. I mean they are not supposed to be game changing anyway.
Sorry I mixed up the exploiter legendary and the harrowing punishment ( though the latter is also lackluster in power). The exploiter legendary gives you almost zero damage upgrade since even with two sacks plus two stacks of op, you would still use condemn over MS. Making the legendary almost useless. Yes, as condemn no longer provide deep wound, you still need to use MS every 8s or so, but the damage increase would be well within two percent.
Now that the game has been live for a bit, I’m just bumping these because I still agree with the feedback and think it’s pretty accurate for the most part. I really hope blizz can do something for the spec soon as far as damage.
Some of the other complaints certainly won’t be addressed until a future patch, if at all.
