Warrior Fantasy Transmog Request: Transmog Shields as backpieces

This is something that I’ve been requesting since BfA, and even exchanged DM’s with former Blizz President Mike Ybarra about when I crossed paths with him in-game (he said he’d pass the word on to the team :smiling_face_with_tear:… I guess little came from that).

The same way that Paladins get those belt librams or hunters get quivers, it feels exceptionally fitting that Warriors could transmog shields to their back, for a few reasons:

  1. Our class fantasy is essentially that we are magicless but compensate with brute strength. As such it makes sense we’d be equipped in all measures.

  2. In Arms’ case, their namesake quite literally describes being a master of weapons. And as we know, a shield is a weapon, and historically was used more as a weapon than not.

  3. Since asking former-prez about it, there have already been several trading post shields that have also released as backpieces for transmog. So for anything thinking it would look ridiculous to transmog a backpiece into a shield, while equipping that same shield, it’s already possible on a small scale (Brewfest Shield + Troll shield are two top of my mind examples)

  4. Despite the previous point, a case could be made that it would look extra-stupid on Prot Warriors, to which I concede and say fair enough, if it were disabled for them, I don’t think anyone would honestly care since they’d effectively have that out of combat 24/7 anyways

  5. Probably the biggest point especially with The War Within coming out- the Mountain King/Muradin Warcraft III unit literally has a shield on its back. He’s dual-wielding with single minded fury while having a shield mog for his backpiece. Like that is a direct, in-game instance of this beyond all logical reasons.

So for any Blizz devs seeing this, I can’t imagine it would be too hard to implement! It would add a lot to our class fantasy I feel. For Fury Warriors wanting to be even more like Mountain Thanes, for Arms Warriors who want to feel like they are truly armed to the teeth, and for Prot Warriors who really enjoyed the Dual Shield build in Dark Souls 3

I second this with full violence

they should also be able to transmog leather and mail for different era and types of warriors. like Vikings and Crusaders wearing mail and “berserkers” wearing no armor or leather.

haha one step at a time but for sure

transmog being the true endgame blizzard wouldn’t allow warrior to be so overpowered :frowning:
