It looks like we’ll be waiting quite a while for the 9.1 content patch, because in March they’ll be pushing out a 9.0.5 systems changes patch to tide us over. On deck are changes to Covenant abilities, Conduits, legendaries, and Torghast anima powers. Information is still trickling out until the PTR goes up, but how about a brand new Warrior Necrolord ability?
(New) Conqueror’s Banner: 2 minute cooldown, 15 second buff, while active you generate 4 Rage per second, you and your two closest allies gain 500 Mastery and 30% movement speed, and your movement speed cannot be reduced below 100%.

Why change it from crit -> mastery though?
The main change it needs from what i can tell is we need to carry the banner.
Maybe put in a NPC in so we can choose what stat it boosts though.
Mastery is more widely useful. Not just for all types of Warriors, but other party members you’ll buff with this. I’m not going to rush out and abandon Venthyr, but for Warriors who wanted to be Necro this is a good change.
Oh, and speaking of Necro buffs, Fleshcraft also got a rework. It’s now Fleshcraft: 3s channel for a 40% health shield, you take 30% reduced damage while channeling, and you have a global passive where moving near a corpse consumes its essences and reduced the CD of Fleshcraft by 1 second.

That’s all I’m concerned about tbh. We currently have 2 warriors in our raid team (1 arms, 1 fury) and I hope we don’t become the buff bots for the pumpers.
Here Vesh! You go choose crappy covenant and we’ll tell you when to pop banner, make sure it lines up with ww monk cooldowns kthx.

In addition to what Althiala said, consider too that Mastery is a guaranteed damage buff, while Crit is a buff on average. Theoretically you could roll really well and not have needed the bonus crit, or you can roll so poorly the bonus crit doesn’t help. Mastery is always just free damage, assuming you’re playing right of course (Fury staying enraged, Arms keeping up DW, I assume other classes have to push their buttons correctly too to benefit from mastery).

I’ve been Necrolords warrior since launch and I’m pretty happy with this rework. Though, I will say I’m a little bummed that it’s a 2min CD rather than a 3 or 1.5 minute CD. Having banner time up with Avatar/Ravager/CS was really nice and I don’t love having them de-synced. I think I’d rather see like 375 Mastery on a 1.5 minute CD so that it could mesh than this.
That said, I think the real money is in the Fleshcraft change.

this is the Conduit for it now it has been changed more of your main stat is no damn joke!
Oh and now instead of Plant a banner it says BRANDISH a banner so Its gonna be on your back probably.
One could make that argument for haste or vers also.
Which brings me back to the other point, let us choose the stat.
One certainly could, I’m just pointing out why the new stat can be better than the old.

Ah bummer. So now if you use rage you no longer get that crit damage bonus. It was nice to have 40% (30% and rend 10% ) crit damage bonus as arms for 30 seconds while having 25% crit rating.
I’m glad they buffed it, alas now its become another trinket on use ability instead of something unique of using rage to build up a self buff of crit damage.
It be nice if they changed to the mastery buff but also kept the crit damage bonus when you use rage.
Cannot wait to try out the banner! I’m definitely rerolling back to Necrolords.
