Warport Rastari etc

Will this place always be crawling with enemies despite the player clearing them out, or do you think it will eventually change to reflect the players actions? Like, through phasing or something.

I’m not sure how WoW usually handles these sorts of things.

The type of phasing you are talking about was abandoned post-cata. That phasing being based upon small and large quest chains in a specific area that is more or less optional that radically changes its appearance or function.

It is that phasing they removed, and what Warport Rastari would get as opposed to the phasing they use to an introduction quest line, a singularly required quest line to advance story, or a one off scenario where you re-visit it for a short time.

Like 95% of wow’s current content, it will not be revisited except for maybe a one off scenario either in this expansion, or one far, far, down the road.

Aw, that’s disappointing. Why would they abandon phasing like this? Seems like it just damages the story for the individual player.

It may for the individual but it harms the greater ‘population.’ Don’t get me wrong either, I am one of the most outspoken individuals on updating old content. Specifically Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms with a few other odd exceptions.

What that type of phasing does is cause issues between players being able to play together. You cannot finish the Silverpine quest line if you hope to see Alliance in Gilneas. You can’t complete the Western Plaguelands quest line if you hope to see Alliance Andorhol. Parts of Stonetalon and Stranglethorn are similar. It was certainly an experimental design. Not to forget those other Horde players who didn’t do the quest line you did can’t see you either.

They’ve taken a different approach to it at various times of the game which I wont get into.

Also to note, especially with like Rastari, that the World Quests system demands repetition so you can’t phase locations any more to fully retain that system. Dailies were often presented in a back and forth battle, enemies to chisel away at. World Quests seem far more definitive and require that ambiguity in completing them.

Ah, true. Would be nice for them to figure out some kind of system though. Not where World Quests are of course. Maybe some kind of opt in system like War Mode but for people who love things to change based on what you’ve done.
