This evening while in a spellcleave SM group myself and another member of my groups accounts were permanently banned for “hacks”. Neither of us have ever used any kind of exploit, bot, or any program aside from addons downloaded off of curseforge. After speaking with other friends in the community and reading forums/reddit, it seems I am not the only one running into this issue. It’s sad to see legitimate players accounts being closed for hacking, meanwhile when im in a city my trade chat is full of bots spamming their gold selling/boosting services without getting banned. I attempted to appeal the ban but was quickly met with an automated reply saying nothing can be done. Would really like to be able to reach a human that can easily see I am not doing any kind of exploits and just aoe grinding dungeons like the thousands of other mages lvling to 60.

Is it too soon to make a haha funny joke about how bots and mage players are indistinguishable?
In all seriousness, if this is actually happening that’s really bad. My condolences OP.

Yep, the same happened to me and a lot of others. It’s a false positive with their anti-bot detection. Sadly most staff members are out of the office due to Thanksgiving - hoping they can look into this Monday or sometime next week. Pray we can get ahold of them brother, don’t lose hope!

Hunters make way better bot though. And so do druids. So them targeting mages like this is just odd.
This company never ceases to amaze me.

Oh trust me Drinknblink…thing’s will only get worse from here on out. If you were planning on AoE leveling to 60, good luck with that, they will probably ban you.
Good this company sucks anyway

Blizzart please for 20th anniversary get some real GMs to scout bot areas and unban wrongful bans

Whats funny is on reddit there are 9+ different GM’s spotted ingame blasting fireworks and dancing in random towns.
Seems they have no business talking when they are sitting around doing nothing and bots are flying opening chests in eastern plaguelands daily now xD

Maybe if they start giving the pet’s names in english…
Please post these kind of issues in the Customer Support forum if you want some hope.

I was jumping over the fence in the human starting area on my new mage. I hope I dont get banned for taking advantage of bad mob pathing. They have to go around the fence and cant go through it or over it. WHich is how like ZG and other solo farms are done via bad mob pathing.
Just make all mage players have to solve a captcha before entering a dungeon.

Maybe don’t use exploitive means to level… cuz anyone who is anyone knows there is more to this story that you aren’t giving us.

jumping a fence = account ban
I will never understand why people claim to be innocent after clearly having done something wrong. Anyone remember the frog exploit at MOP Remix?
Ofc. they were all innocent!
Hopefully Blizzard keeps going after those that ruin the game for others. Someone hitting 60 by exploiting is bad for the game and has no right to complain.
Please be as strict when it comes to the flag exploits at WSG, don´t let people ruin the game for others.
