Prepatches drop usually a week after they’re announced with the release date thats always on reset day.
They last for a month at minimum before expansion drop.

Beta invites are going out every week until the Beta ends.
Yes but they usually did a large open invite when the most of it is finished testing, as a means of judging launch day.

Typically, you’ll know when they announce the end of the current PvP season IIRC. But, if I had to guess, I’d say plan for mid to late September
Another good indicator it’s coming soon is to watch for the pre patch download. When that happens it’s most likely to go live on the next weekly reset. The launcher will download the pre patch ahead of time so it’s ready to go on reset day.

They did a couple of stress tests on Classic that were open invite for a few days. I’ve been playing since Cata and there’s never been an open invite Beta because there are only I think 4 Beta servers and they couldn’t handle that.

A shame I doubt we’ll ever get a pre-patch as fun as Legions was.
I quite enjoyed the invasion farm.
They promised to give a two week season’s ending warning. That will be your sign

I think they annonced the BfA pre-patch released only a week before it went live.
The drops at the same time for everybody and there won’t be an email notification about it. 
usually when pre-patch comes down fromptr its about 1-2 weeks after that it goes live… iirc

I didn’t get an email either they don’t send emails notifying people about a patch. They just make an announcement about 2 weeks before.

Mine was a reminder about raiding mounts and pvp mount, title, and tabard.
I deleted the email already, I clean out my bnet email quickly, wish I hadn’t so I could screenshot it for ya.
Basically said time is running out to collect these in game items before Shadowlands is live.
