Warmode opinion and suggestions

I hate it, simple has that.

I just cant find the logic behind Warmode which is PvP mode basically, to reward PvE related stuff such has Exp boost.

And considering how bad it feels to level alts currently many people want to force themself inside PvP to level up faster.

So what about if we split it?

Warmode:
Remains has a PvP mode with the PvP talents but gives PvP related rewards only, such has Marks of Honor.

Adventure mode (yeah im so original):
This is the PvE version of it, it gives basically the current rewards, but rather than letting you inside PvP has the trade off, it changes the PvE aspect.

Some suggestions:
Stronger enemies, this concept comes from other games, basically some normal enemies will have some form of buff making them stronger than the normal variant, such has having more HP or hitting harder.
(The enemies are selected randomly probably exclude Elites/Rares, to noticed the difference they could have some for of visual effect covering them similar to the shadow form of the priests)

Some of the debuffs from Mythic+ could be used or a variation of them, such has the enemies leaving a pool in the floor that dmgs you and heals them.

This mode is basically to make PvE a bit harder and more interesting.

What do you think?

I’m all for hard mode. But are you suggesting some pve’ers would have “adventure mode” turned on and other pve’er wouldn’t?

The cries of elitism would drown out even the blue eyed elf screeds.

Well idk how exactly it could work.

Maybe that the enemies will turned into the buffed state if theres a player with the mode on nearby otherwise the enemies will just be normal.

Idk i just offered the idea for now, we could work more on the idea here.

Suggestions are welcomed.

Another thing could be that the enemies will only turn into the “OP” state if they are aggroed on someone with the Adventure Mode on.

Otherwise they will remain normal until an Av.M guy touches them

Kinda reminds me of God of War hard mode.

The way it works there is that enemies will sometimes begin turning.

Usually starts with some form of aura around them (almost like if they are about to explode) and then turn into a stronger version of that enemy.

I died SO many times in that mode…

I don’t like the idea of altering current WM perks. Don’t alter the game for players who don’t want to play like you do.

You can shoot for adventurer mode though, i’ll Just turn both modes on because I wouldn’t mind harder PvE content in addition to being in WM. Plus more rewards!

It would be almost the same, just the rewards would be mainly PvP related

It’s PvE + PvP, such as to simulate open-world PvP. The purpose is to reward you with extra XP because you are making it more dangerous for yourself to quest by enabling PvP. There’s no logical incoherence in combining the two elements together.

No-one is forced to. An incentive is a distinct concept from coercion. You can level without Warmode and not deal with world PvP just as if the feature didn’t even exist.

There is a system already like that with the war supply chests giving conquest points.

I already get the weekly war chest (admittedly it’s not that useful anymore because 410 gear) because of it. Changing the current rewards to be even more PvP related wouldn’t benefit people in WM plus people can already arena for the tier sets.

I’m all for your idea, just leave my mode alone. I really like the m+ debuff idea. I failed a Underrot key the other day but I did find the weird shattering ground debuff cool. Would be nice to see it take effect as you reach the body of Hi’reek or the blood troll area in general.

Personally, unless I’m getting harassed I stay in WarMode. But it need… more. I don’t like the bonuses from PvE content attached to it, I’d rather there be more exclusive PvP based rewards, world quests, and such. Bring back the capture points like there were in Hellfire Peninsula.

In my opinion warmode is not a blizz problem. It is a system they have put in place because of us players wanting world pvp and many pvpers crying for blizz to fix world pvp for years which was not something they broke it is something we broke by just not participating in it much.

The logic behind warmode was blizzards attempt to fix something the players broke by not participating. Could they have done a better job by doing something with CRZ or better sharding…maybe but the best way to fix warmode is for the players who cried for years to have world pvp back to get off their arses and turn on warmode.

To me the main problem with the current warmode is not the concept because blizz gave pvpers what the cried for. I don’t think there should be any rewards not even an xp bonus (which was put in place to try and get more people involved) for giving us something we asked for, more world pvp…they gave us the entire world just by turning on warmode. What more can they effing do currently?

As stated…the problem is not blizz it is the players. Most (not all) players do not like having their world quests, world bosses, gathering routes and dailies interrupted by being attacked every few minutes.

Maybe for the future they could set up specific servers so when you turn on warmode you are automatically transported to a server and hope that server is fairly balanced between alliance and horde? Might work but then that is just like having a new BG. What if in this new BG of “world PVP” they put in PVP quests. Maybe a mix of something like they had in Ashran, Wintergrasp and several zones in BC but have stuff throughout the world and include NPC’s attacking cities, villages and outposts from time to time along with groups of players. But this would not really be world pvp now would it? It would be just another BG. Now that we have this new BG what happened to world pvp?

The problem is faction imbalance which has existed for years. The easiest solution is just to make warmode fully free for all and let horde kill each other. Similarly the easiest solution for instance PvP imbalance is to get rid of factions and randomize groups.

+facepalm+

Seriously, what does it take???

There IS NOT a faction imbalance! The problem is that Sharding Tech is BROKEN.

Big difference.

WM is fine. This thread is just another veiled attempt to say “I want a bonus, but I don’t what to have to do anything for it.”

I don’t PvP so I could care less about it. Still, it’s amusing that I wind up on layers with a crap ton of alliance players. It never fails. I kind of laugh to myself and feel glad that I don’t bother turning it on. If I want to PvP I have games for that. I don’t want to do it in a game that doesn’t have a clear and definitive separation between PvE and PvP.

I love the way they implemented Warmode. It’s optional.
