I think its fun. I like wpvp. War mode gives everyone an option to do world PvP instead of having to be on a PvP server. And for the people who don’t enjoy W PvP it can easily turned off at any inn or rest area. I think they did a decent job.
I’ve had more pvp happen since the change. Other than pvp towers in Legion and killing my own faction to gain rep I haven’t seen this much wpvp since vanilla.
Raids happen. Both ways. On my Paladin I have raided Alliance areas, on my Rogue I have raided Horde areas. Too bad the Translocator is a Horde only device. After I vandalized Silvermoon, my Rogue would have had fun porting into Tirisfal and continue being a pain in the hind quarters.
Most of the time I run into red letter players, fight or no fight decisions happen based on what everyone present is doing. In a faction assault scenario , you getting ganked is your fault. Either 1) get good at PvP 2) Turn off WM or 3) stay clear of the war zone where the faction assault is happening.
I could think of some small issues but over all, it’s certainly was a success.
It does seem like I’m playing a completely separate game then everyone else at times.
It almost feels like I’m working alongside the other faction doing some world quests. But then it gets sort of humorous doing world assault quests. I’m knocking down their allies and they walk up and heal them.
It’s that wPvP is a COMPLETE waste of time. Without any sense of overall world balance, class balance, or any other kind of balance, WM is a moot point.
And when Blizz introduces something that’s supposed to put a bandaid on severed head called “sharding”… and sharding doesn’t even work… again, WM is the least of the problems.
