Warmode is a Failure without Loot

It doesn’t need to be popular, it just needs to be available. PVP servers made that plenty possible. We had our balanced realms like Emerald Dream, we had our Mal’Ganis, we had our KT—no matter your faction or your desired population spread, you could find the experience you wanted.

Now its homogenized, you get one experience—and that experience isn’t what blizzard wanted, so now they are trying to band-aid fix it thru incentives, and it won’t work.

Really, nothing is needed as an incentive, but WM (ad hoc optional) vs PVP realms (permanent) are just inferior.

The only purpose of warmode was to end separate PvP servers.

It has been a success in so much as it achieved blizzard’s objective of simplifying the game and reducing support headaches and costs.

World PvP and War Mode are, however, as broken as they have been since the game launched.

Warmode had loot in it already. The supply drops should be fought over but they drop garbage so they need to have better loot as the expansion goes on.

This will encourage world PvP while being fair to both factions.

I like the idea of supply drops in the open world, but yea they need to be relevant for anyone to care—like DMF or Gurubashi arena loot, with a long capture time

I dont understand what ever happened to just enjoying pvp. The challenge of fighting other players. I think that a lot of it died with sharding because people just group up and wax people instead of actually wanting an engaging pvp battle. Comparing battlegrounds to world pvp is kind of like comparing apples to oranges yes they are both fruit but they are not the same thing. If you like world pvp than you are out of luck because the current playerbase of “pvpers” that complain about not being rewarded are not really true pvpers are getting what they want in order to try and bandaid the situation for the pvpers that are interested in world pvp.

There’s always been some level of minor incentive, but it needs to be minor—titles have been around, honor points, racking up your stats or earning achievements. I still collect bloody coins. Its nice to have a little something that helps you keep score or that you can look at at the end of the day, but having it built into the gearing model is a no no

Right but what I was saying is the constant need for a reward for every little thing you do. I would rather have a system that rewards over time like a vendor or titles for world pvp. I mean they obviously dont have a problem spewing out mounts for everything including the shop and in-game. The sheer amount of mounts that they are putting in the game it would not be hard to make a world pvp currency and give world pvp value aside from the dungeon/raid esk other pvp that is offered in instances(battlegrounds).

edit: fixed sentence.

Absolutely agree—right now there’s a huge problem with getting 10 rewards for what in the past would be 1, and maybe having one of those 10 be an upgrade. Its by design a loot piñata to keep us coming back, and it doesn’t feel good. Better was working hard to get that one best in slot item, rather than hitting a good warforge knowing you might replace it next week—since you have no control to target slots or reach BiS.

Unfortunate to see they’ve pushed this model into Non-rated, Rated, and wPVP as well.

Exactly.
WoW wpvp has had that reputation for literally over a decade. That’s why a lot of people didn’t play on pvp servers.
Nothing changed for the pve players, they did not have to turn war mode on.

Instead, in many cases, a player that dislikes wpvp would turn it on, get ganked, and then get mad and make a forum post. And now we have what we have.
Sorry I’m just upset.
