We used to get pvp gear for pvping. I dont see what was so wrong with that.
Move along nothing to see here just another person crying and wanting a hand out.
I think we confuse āhandoutā with AOO. It isnāt like Alliance walks up to the quest giver and clicks āCompleteā and boom ilvl 400 gear is added to their bags.
They still have to do an actual quest. Albeit, not a terribly difficult one if accompanied with an assault, but it isnāt a āhandoutā.
Gear is acquired like this in a variety of ways in game. But especially through quests.
I posted this elsewhere: It was nice knowing you WM - #153 by Tyberim-emerald-dream
But would like to add that I wish other stat items mattered more as they did in the past, like āhitā āresilienceā etcā¦things that were specifically geared for pvp purposes.
I think WM can work and I also think it encourages group interactions.
Iām just not sure how they will get it to a even playing field. Maybe over time?
Just finished an incursion in Drustvar and Iād say itās a success. Last few weeks with AOO got enough Alliance to turn it on and stick around.
Had a good bout around the quests and it wasnāt too overrun with Alliance. Seemed about even with us pushing them back and then them pushing us back.
I can confirm that Iāve also experienced this on my server too.
Remember timeless isle? That was PvP rewards done right.
I think the overall implementation of how to incentivize Warmode is bad. There should have been open world objectives to fight for and capture. Capturing these points gives access to vendors with gear, pets, mounts, etc. The currency for these vendors should only be looted from dead enemy players.
I agree. I DONāT need loot drops to enjoy the raiding experience. If you need REWARDS to enjoy game play experiences, you are doing it wrong. Youāll probably have a lot more fun going to the casino and āplayingā the slot machines.
It absolutely was a handout. Unless you think killing āxā amount of players while zerging in a group and turning warmode off immediately after is harder than downing a heroic boss in a raid group?
And thatās the problem. There is too much higher-level gear handed out like candy this expansion. There was a thread yesterday about an Alliance player complaining that the 400 gear from AOO if it was kept would have been useless within a month anyway, and that player didnāt raid or do M+.
Unless youāre super lucky in drops or in a successful mythic guild, heroic level gear shouldnāt be useless to you within a month of a tier release.
It does a great job at helping to gear up alts and for the once-in-a-while 400 loot on Darkshore quest. After that, its not intended to be āas goodā as M+ or raiding.
There should be no pve rewards at all in war mode. The only thing I could possibly see worth including is conquest equivalent to unranked bgs and arena skirmishes. The fluctuating population and overall consistently poor experience people have with war mode is because it wasnāt pvp enough.
Warmode is fine, in fact it is just a fun thing to participate in with zero pressure and no real downside.
The rewards from the quest was great but sometimes gear isnāt necessary to just have fun.
Anyone who remembers the huge PvP fights at places like the Crossroads will know that just joining in the melee can be awesome.
I donāt think there should be any rewardā¦other than the satisfaction with world pvpā¦that being said if anyone is looking (on ally) for some people to bg or wpvp with hmu, iām gearing up my rogue now and iāve had a blast ganking people
Thatās the problem, the reward attracts people who just want the free gear and then turn it off until next week. They donāt care about having wpvp fun, they just are there for the bribe. And Iām not faulting them, youād be a fool not to take advantage of essentially free i-level 400 gear.
War Mode has loot. There are supply crates that drop from the sky every 20 minutes or so. Go out there and get them.
There is no such thing as pve or pvp servers anymore so that argument is dead on arrival.
As for not giving loot, why the hell shouldnāt content give loot in an MMORPG where 99% of RPGs is about what is in your bags and on your character.
PvP servers died fast because people dont wanāt to interact with angsty pvp teens without loot, you think that was a good idea?
All this means Warmode is a giant failure, all the problems of legacy pvp realms without the only incentive which matters in an MMO, tangible rewards.
For 1 week blizzard had it right, now its back to the same problem, nobody will use it on ally, sick a system for horde.
#Logic#Wins#Again
Warmode is not a failure. The idea is sound and it was a long time coming. Allowing player to decide if they wanted in or not was a great idea.
Trying to force and manipulate things to try to make it fair and even was the mistake. World pvp is not for everyone and itās no secret, usually always unfair. Itās one of those things people that do enjoy it, is for the sake of attacking and being attacked. Not for any kind of bells and whistles. World pvp IS the fun.
Iām stupefied (love that word, right up there with pathetic) Blizzard thought they could make it balanced and with sharding being broken. Not to mention people plug pulling at the first sign of trouble. Itās an impossible task like trying to heard 10,000 cats across the country. They should have never dangled extra candy to get people to populate the world for it.
Give nothing extra for the mode being on and let it just happen.
Anyone actually from a PVP server is probably laughing at how spoiled people are over the gear thing.
