Key Features of Warmode Day
- All Servers Become PvP Servers:
- The First Monday of every month, all World of Warcraft servers (regardless of their usual designation as PvE, PvP, or RP) activate a universal PvP mode, similar to the game’s existing War Mode system. This cannot be toggled off.
- Players are automatically flagged for PvP, meaning Alliance and Horde players can engage in combat anywhere in the open world, except in designated safe zones (see below).
- This creates a high-stakes environment where faction conflict is emphasized, encouraging players to team up and engage in world PvP.
- LFG is disabled.
- Major Cities Lose Permanent Sanctuary Status:
- Major cities, such as Dalaran, Stormwind, Orgrimmar, or other faction hubs, are no longer permanent sanctuaries. This means players can be attacked by the opposing faction within these cities.
- For example, a Horde player in Dalaran could be ambushed by Alliance players, turning these typically safe zones into contested battlegrounds.
- This change heightens the sense of danger and faction rivalry, as players must remain vigilant even in areas traditionally considered safe.
- Neutral Cities and Outposts on a Timer:
- Neutral cities and outposts (e.g., Shattrath, Booty Bay, or other shared hubs) operate on a timed system to accommodate PvE-focused players.
- These locations have a 1-hour reprieve period during which PvP combat is disabled, making them temporary sanctuaries for players who prefer to avoid PvP.
- After the 1-hour safe period expires, these areas become open to PvP combat again, allowing the opposing faction to engage in battles.
- The timer resets periodically throughout the day, ensuring regular windows of safety for PvE players to complete quests, trade, or go AFK browsing the appearance tab.
Why?
- PvP. Faction focus could change to being guild focused, or other exceptions. Possible Alternate.
- Just to remind everyone this is World of Warcraft.
Won’t be balanced.
-
Probably, All PvP is this way. Not fun? It’s only one day of the month.
-
Rewards for simply staying alive, so it’s possible that people will just hide, and big groups won’t bother spreading thin, or not. Cause kills gain rewards faster.
-
If this was implemented there’s sure to be issues at the beginning anyways.
Nobody will participate/or like it.
- There’s rewards even if you’re AFK during the event.
- Again, only one day.
Still Though Why?
Look PvP isn’t getting any real traction or attention, just let PvP wreak havoc on this game. I get it nobody likes PvP that much, basically. Though having this in the game as a regular event nearly everyone doesn’t care for (like most events), at least it’s for PvP.
