Warmode cross faction and the issue

If I want warmode on to get.the bonus and my party consist of both factions I dont want to tab target them and kill them, Also if I ally tag a mob do the horde party members get the tag? I dont think being able to attack your party members is the solution.

A better solution is to treat a cross faction party as a faction less party like we did in timeless isle with the censor of Agony. As well as in BFA when we worshipped the old God and had to get 10 kills of out own faction.

I would assume that the kill horde (or alliance) function would be disabled in the instance.

You actually showed as an enemy to both factions, not just your own faction.

IMO the only reasonable way of accomplishing “cross faction” play is to separate races from faction choice. For example, allow you to choose Horde for your faction and then choose Human for your race.

Cross faction is not enabled out in the world.

Or you know they could have a PVP raid. First to kill hogger wins or first to kill the other team.

What did Hogger, that lovable anthropomorphic hyena, ever do to you?

He’s like that goat in Diablo 1 saying please don’t hurt but then back stabs you.

Seriously though a PVP Raid would be awesome. Groups of players, randomly mixed up, to try to achieve alternate primary goals.

Kind of like the ToP fight. And maybe just one team gets a better buff after a short sparring session.

I think they should make everyone in the party a friendly and then all others enemies if you are cross faction partied.

This could keep some of the “bad blood” the two factions have for each other while simultaneously showing that they often work together so it fits thematically.

Well from the way they explained it the first wave of cross faction will only be for instanced content done as a PUG or premade. So WM will not even enter the situation for a while.

Cross faction PVP raid parties.

War games all night.

it’s not as said in the blue post you can kill your party members if they are of the opposite faction which is why imo it would be best to treat it like a Censor of Agony Scenario where if you are in a party with other censor of agonies you couldn’t hurt them but you could attack everything Litterally on timeless isle.

Once in a party together, members of the opposite faction will remain unfriendly while in the “outdoor” world (and fully hostile in War Mode!), as they do today, though they will be able to communicate through party chat. Upon entering a dungeon, raid, or rated PvP match, however, all members will be friendly and able to assist each other in combat, trade loot, earn shared achievements, and otherwise fully cooperate the same way members of the same faction have always been able to. A major goal in announcing this feature in advance is to make sure we’re capturing all the expectations and requirements for this to be a smooth experience. A group raiding, doing Mythic+ keys, or chasing higher PvP ratings should be able to operate seamlessly whether they’re a same-faction or cross-faction group.

Nope we can be in parties in the open world running around together, As well as being able to attack our party members.

Pretty sure this is only for instanced content. My guess is if you tried grouping with someone for a mythic+, they’d be hostile to you until inside the instance if it even phased you at all.

The wording means when you are in a party you will still be hostile in the world meaning you can kill each other in the world while in a party. Which is again an issue.

Which also adds again to doing quest together etc and not being able to share credit which again is an issue.

Doesn’t having war mode enabled seem like a preemptive rejection of cross-faction cooperation?

(Or are there some who would prefer to never turn war mode off yet are still interested in taking advantage of this new feature?

Disclaimer: I ask only as a curious observer to this conversation, I don’t play in war mode myself, so I’m just trying to better understand my neighbours there.

That is why the solution is as easy as make it work like a Censor of Agony scenario.

People still want to pvp I enjoy world pvp but if I can world pvp Everyone with my party consisting of both factions then I get even more pvp and that means more fun. So Long as I can’t harm my party members and go on a spree against every other player then that makes more pvp.

Honestly, I didn’t even think about the travel time to reach the instance. So I guess you do raise a good question. I would assume they have already worked out how to flag cross faction as friendly to their group, it is probably just a slight modification of the “merc” mode for BGs.

I just think that it would be easiest to make the party Hostile to all players other then members of said party/raid while in outdoor events.

I don’t see that happening, it will probably be based upon the group/raid leaders faction and cross faction players being “morphed” into that faction. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if they addressed the entire “WM” issue but automatically disabling it entirely for the group and then restoring it after they break up.

Ya except that would be very unfair to pvpers. So again the best solution is the same solution they had to make world pvp more fun in the past by just making work as a Censor of Agony.

Well I don’t think they intend for this to be initially use as a “PvP” mechanic, as it mentions being for premade instance content. I think you just found a loop hole that they will close in the first push of this. I wouldn’t expect warmode support for a long time.
