Warmode and Flying

Flying will no doubt drop later in the expansion, but do you guys think it will be available in warmode? That would seriously kill a lot of the danger of warmode.

I think it will be available in war mode. If flying is part of the game, it really needs to be available in war mode for those of us who never turn war mode off.

I don’t think it will kill much of the danger of war mode. You’re still going to have to land to do quests, and the way assault quests work, you can’t really drop in for a quick completion while no one is looking.

In addition, flying was instrumental to the massive prepatch battles around air drops, so on net, it may actually add more PVP.

Flying was part of PVP servers, as well as BFA pre-patch (Darkshore). It will be part of Warmode once available.

If anything they need to decrease the cast time on the net.

Flying will be allowed in warmode, but by the time that comes out we will be slaughtering in nazjatar which will be like Argus. No flying

Atleast with flying we can kick out Alliance from the throne room at the great seal easily … going up the elevators when they are already on top is torture .

Yeah they did that last night on my shard

Ya you need a huge no of horde to overwhelm the elevator choke points … with flying it should be pretty easy

Unfortunately they’ll have flying. Though I am looking forward to using my net-o-matic much more often. I’m hoping to see more tears from players who are trying to avoid PvP, complain about getting shot out of the sky.

The net brings me so much joy when doing old world content.

Flying during the warmode prepatch Darkshore was absolute trash. Unless you consider shooting someone off their mount and watching them drop to their death as “pvp”.

The net hardly does anything for someone who is smart and it does not encourage pvp. If you see someone you want to kill and start launching your net, that person can fly low to the ground and directly horizontal. With 310% speed, that person can get far enough away during the net cast time that you can’t catch up to the enemy before they drop combat, mount up & fly away again.

A bounty appears on you? T-minus 20 seconds until a swarm of 30 enemies drops down from their flying mount and deletes your character. Flying is garbage for world pvp. You can’t change my mind.

Thankfully, like someone above said, we should be in Nazjatar by the time pathfinder drops, which should be no flying.

How many classes can’t save themselves from the fall off of a flying mount though? And really, you’ve gotta be smart enough to fly low to the ground.

Exactly what I was saying - most people can survive the drop from the net, get far enough away before you can catch them, they can mount up and just fly away again.

Mage, preist, hunter, warrior, pally, druid, rogue, DH, monk, all goblins and pandas all have something to combat fall damage. Basically just locks, shammys and DKs don’t have something (unless I’m forgetting something about one of those three classes).

This is all assuming the person is not carrying around goblin gliders, which most people with WM turned on carry them.

And again, I already said that “for someone smart” the net is ineffective at instigating pvp. We only had a month or so of prepatch Darkshore. When flying goes live, more people will figure out that the key to escaping the net is flying horizontal and not vertical. Once that realization is widely recognized, the net will be useless.

Agreed the net isn’t perfect. My hope is that overall it will cause enough of a nuisance to deter people from flying, or make flying dangerous for them. If you’re standing still and you catch right away someone is targeting you, you can get a way. Let your guard down for a second though, and you’ll likely not react in time. I think it can be an effective tool. And while someone can glide away, by the time they likely reach the ground you can get on your own flying mount and run them down to their landing spot.
