Warmode and Alliance

No, this is not a thread to whine or complain about warmode. I know, scandalous !

Anyway, this is just a thing I have observed about alliance behavior in warmode, at least on my server.

So, for a bit of context, stormsong assault live right now, i was delivering the tortollan emissary and the assault started while I was flying there, I thought “well since i’m already here”.
Didn’t take long for horde to form a raid and they were camping the chest drop next to a wq. Also, my shard is always full of horde since here they outnumber us by a large amount.

Usually at this times general chat is full of alliance crying “there’s too much horde”, “horde is always dominaning”, “alliance let the horde do whatever it wants” and obviously do little to none effort in fighting them off.
But…

Today general chat was full of alliance asking for group to hunt them down, saying “let’s kill this assassin”, “everyone come to X location”, “be careful the assassin is with at least more 15 people, watch your map”. We formed our own raid wiped them out and took the chest. I have been seen this pattern in the latest invasions i’ve participated.

So, just maybe, some alliance players that would have never turned on warmode otherwise, with all this bribes actually start to enjoy it and are not turning it off.

Well, I may be wrong and in a few weeks it will go back to how it was before, but it is nice seeing alliance willing to fight, even without the 30% and AOO, lately.

WARNING: This post reflects my experience as a alliance player with warmode on since launch, i’m not claiming this behavior reflects alliance or horde in general.

Well people who don’t want do wpvp shouldn’t feel forced to do it. Makes pvp feel worse that way when you got people not wanting to pvp and they’re just sitting in the back doing nothing so they can do their world quests for extra rewards.I knew them adding incentives to warmode was a mistake from the start. Wpvp needs to be for true world pvpers not people who just do it to get extra rewards from quests and such. This goes for both horde and alliance.

Since wpvp only thing i enjoy besides rp, ive seen both horde dominated and alliance dominated zones. Been bout 50/50

I much prefer rppvp and pvp servers and hate they replaced them with warmode

See, that right there is why I love warmode, in all its stupid, broken, lurching glory.

Because, yeah, you get camped. The sides are never even. Frequently, it’s very predictable.

But every now and then, it just turns awesome, and when it does, you have some of the best times.

I completely agree with you, i don’t think warmode should have any incentives at all. It should be for people that only want to wpvp, but we are stuck with this mess.

At least I found something a bit positive in all this.

if it is to bad, you can still do the quests without warmode on… which i think shouldn’t be an option… the assaults should be for warmode enabled players… just my opinion though

This can be a lot of fun if it wasn’t for the sharding and lagging issues. It feels really good to dismantle a raid that’s terrorizing your faction in assaults.

Cross realm grouping peeves me the most (i am on an rp realm i dont want or care about non rp servers who spam yell )
