Warlord's Deathwheel: Will It Ever Return?

What are your thoughts and predictions on the Warlord’s Deathwheel? Do you think it will ever return to the game (similar to how the Alliance’s bike is on the vendor), or is the Deathwheel perpetually doomed with no reasonable chance we will ever see it again?

The only response we have ever had from Blizzard is along the lines that legal limitations exist in regard to this particular item because of the way it was made available. Unless they can come up with an alternative - eg a reskin of some sort - or the law changes, it doesn’t seem likely.

Due to legal issues with how contests work, they can’t release it last I heard.

Wouldn’t stop them from recoloring it.

Hmm, I wonder if this legal issue has an expiration date on it. Otherwise it sounds like it is indeed perpetually doomed.

It could, depends on if the model itself is the issue, which my guess is that it is.

I’m not familiar with the particular law but I have a vague memory that it is Californian legislation and it relates to being a contest reward. Unless someone has knowledge of that State’s laws, I couldn’t say.

But as I said, it seems likely they could make a mount similar in appearance with a different name - it’s just that exact one and that name that they can’t rerelease.

Most likely it has to do with the fact it was advertised as an exclusive reward from the televised contest.

Only Blizzard knows how long it was stated to be exclusive in the contract. We have literally no way of knowing.

I imagine the ball is in the other company’s court, not Blizzard’s. But that’s just a guess.

I think a person who owns the mount could file suit if it gets released again due to the fine print. Perhaps Blizz was worried they would be bombarded with tickets from players who missed the contest deadline by a few days or weeks so they worded the contract to make it clear there would be no more deathwheels given away, ever.

I wonder if they would consider making current deathwheels sellable on the AH, that way no new deathwheels would be added to game and people who need gold or who don’t care about mounts could sell theirs.

AKA The Alliance bike is still buyable so if you think about it the Alliance are the real winners here.

I dunno. The bike is pretty ugly :stuck_out_tongue:

Technically, both are.

I thought there was some california law that prevented them from offering it again seeing as it was the winning award for a promotion or something like that.

Unfortunately no in reality the Alliance were the winners of that competition.
